UPDATE:
Almost as soon as he arrived, Hunter Biden walked out of a congressional hearing room where lawmakers are debating a vote to hold him in contempt of Congress.
Biden failed to attend his interview with the Oversight Committee on Dec. 13.
After watching the hearing descend into chaos, Hunter decided he had enough once Majorie Taylor Greene was recognized to speak.

“We will not provide special treatment to Hunter Biden because of his last name,” Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) has said. “All Americans must be treated equally under the law, including the Bidens.”
ORIGINAL ARTICLE:
The House Oversight Committee is holding a meeting over whether to charge President Biden's son with contempt of Congress.
Last month, the House Oversight and Judiciary committees subpoenaed Hunter Biden for a closed-door deposition as part of the House Republican-led impeachment inquiry against President Biden. However, Hunter refused to sit for the closed-door deposition, instead offering to testify publicly.
In response, Kentucky Republican James Comer announced his committee would hold a markup meeting to “consider a resolution and accompanying report to hold Hunter Biden in contempt of Congress for defying lawful subpoenas.”
Minutes ago, the president's son boldly entered the hearing room and sat among the public.
His surprise appearance elicited an immediate and visceral reaction.

The Hill provides additional details on the events that led to Comer's meeting to bring a contempt of Congress resolution to the House floor:
Hunter Biden and his legal counsel maintain that testimony in a private hearing would lead Comer and other Republicans to spin what is said behind closed doors to their advantage. He has argued he is willing to sit for an open hearing.
Republicans are investigating the president's son as they consider an impeachment case against Joe Biden.
The Oversight Committee hearing is one of two related to contempt of Congress charges today; the other will take place in the Judiciary Committee.
