Republicans Demand George Santos Resign

-

The leading Republican officials in Rep. ' congressional district are demanding that the embattled Republican resign effective immediately.

In November, Santos (R) won the election to represent New York's 3rd Congressional District amid a micro-wave election in the Empire State over stubbornly high rates.

ALN affiliate America's News Desk reports:

More than a dozen Republican politicians from Santos' district condemned Santos' falsehoods and called for his resignation.

“He's disgraced the House of Representatives and we do not consider him one of our congresspeople,” Nassau County Chairman Joseph Cairo said concerning Santos' series of scandals.

Santos has been recorded inflating, and at times downright lying, about his background, including claims that he worked on Wall Street.

Local and federal prosecutors have begun investigating Santos for potential criminal wrongdoings associated with his history of lies.

Earlier this month, Brazilian authorities reopened a criminal case into Santos on charges of check fraud.

A Brazilian court sought Santos' formal response to the charges in September 2011, but he had already immigrated to the United States.

The Rio de Janeiro prosecutor's office will try Santos in absentia should he not present a defense. A Brazilian court could sentence him to up to five years in prison if he's found guilty.

Two House Democrats filed an ethics complaint against Santos on Tuesday. Reps. Ritchie Torres and Dan Goldman want the to investigate the congressman for possible violations of the Ethics in Act “by failing to file timely, accurate and complete financial disclosure reports as required by law.”

  1. Why would this dude be kicked out of office for lying. Lying while not under oath is not a crime or most politicians would be in jail. Republican congressional representatives are not easy to come by, so let’s keep him unless and until a suitable replacement can be found. Don’t let his district fall into Demoncrap hands.

There should be equal treatment of both party members now that Pelosi is gone!
