Pat Cipollone, the former White House Counsel for President Donald Trump, has agreed to give a transcribed interview to the Jan. 6 committee.
Cipollone will appear before the committee Friday. The announcement follows former Mark Meadows aide Cassidy Hutchinson’s testimony that Cipollone tried in vain to dissuade Trump from having agitated supporters march on the U.S. Capitol.
Appearing before the House panel last month, Hutchinson said that Cipollone warned Trump and election conspiracy theorist promoting aides that they risked criminal charges if he marched to the Capitol with thousands of supporters.
Hutchinson added that Cipollone demanded to see Trump after reports came in that rioters were chanting “Hang Mike Pence,” but that he was turned away by Meadows. Hutchinson testified that Meadows told Cipollone that Trump didn’t want to do anything and “thinks Mike deserves it.”
CNBC further reports:
A spokesman for the select committee did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.
The committee had openly called on Cipollone, who was at the White House for key moments before and during the riot, to cooperate with investigators.
“Trump does not want Mr. Cipollone to testify here” because the evidence shows that he and his office “tried to do what was right,” the committee’s vice chair, Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., said last month.
Cheney issued that call during one of the committee’s public hearings laying out the initial findings from its yearlong investigation into the Jan. 6, 2021, riot at the U.S Capitol by a violent mob of Trump’s supporters.
The committee’s next public hearing is scheduled for July 12.

Facts for this whole year long farce have been missing. What we have are the democrats trying to find someone, or something, to pin on Trump so they can say, see we told you he was guilty. So far what’s been presented has been a lot of opinions, hearsay, and he said she said words that mean little to nothing. If they had found anything that would stand up in a court of law it would have been screamed from the rooftops and all the leftist msm.
Another chump whose bank accts need to be investigated and who will be preprogrammed to–repeat–whatever– the demoscum have told him to repeat. Don’t add anything and don’t deviate from the paper he will be reading from. Just another BS farce from the sewer dwellers of America.
