Americans Rate Biden Economy as Among Worst Ever

-

Two years into 's presidency, a new Gallup poll finds a near-record share of Americans say they are financially worse off now than they were a year ago.

In Gallup's latest survey of Americans' attitude toward the , only 35 percent of Americans say they are better off now than they were a year ago – despite Biden's claims of record economic recovery.

The survey also found 50 percent said they are “worse off,” among the highest shares ever recorded since they began surveying the question in 1976.

The only other time in the last 46 years a majority of Americans rated their financial situation as “worse off” was between May of 2008 and May of 2009, during the “Great Recession,” when 55 and 54 percent gave that response.

Gallup found lower-income Americans were most likely to say their financial situation is deteriorating, with 61 percent saying they are worse off, 26 percent saying better off and 11 percent saying their financial situation is unchanged.

Gallup notes last year 41 percent of lower-income Americans said they were worse off, indicating just how badly the economy is deteriorating under Biden.

Among middle-income Americans, 49 percent said they are worse off, 37 percent said better off and 13 percent said their financial situation was unchanged.

Among upper-income Americans, sentiment was closer to evenly split, with 43 percent saying they are worse off, 39 percent saying better off and 17 percent saying their financial situation is unchanged.

The figures throw a monkey wrench into reelection plans for Biden, who was betting on the economy's almost-certain recovery from COVID-mandated lockdowns.

Instead, it appears the colossal cost of Biden's “Build Back Better/Inflation Reduction Act” is eating away at economic growth – with lower-income Americans the first to feel the pain of crippling inflation.

  1. That 35% that says they’re better off today are liars! Or, the pollsters just build-in 35% approval BEFORE surveying. Just like 30% thinks fraud joe is doing a good job! No one could be that stupid to think the criminal is doing a good job.

  2. 35% are government employees, illegal immigrants, welfare recipients, drug pushers, and the alt energy industry.

  3. The 35% they are talking about are most likely affluent people who do not experience difficulty in time like these. ie our elected officials and high paid salaried workers.

  4. Fox has reported the story. The couple of MSM outfits I have seen it on have totally spin it. They claim people who are not happy with Joe’s economy “don’t understand” that Joe’s policies and actions “just take time.”
They believe the trials and tribulations of the little people are not worthy of mention.
Same thing the MSM did when it was obvious that Barack lied, and everyone lost their doctors and healthcare plans. Gushing stories about Obamacare were on a scale of a headline: “Titanic! Success! People Arrive In New York!” But, no mention that the ship sank, more than half the people died, etc.
