Biden Sued Over Scheme to Use Marines as Backdrop in Infamous Red Rage Speech

-

A nonprofit public interest law firm is going to federal court to get records on President 's use of uniformed Marines as a backdrop in a bizarre speech in which he declared his political opponents to be enemies of the state.

filed a Freedom of Information Act () lawsuit against the Department of Defense for records about the use of U.S. Marines for President Joe Biden's controversial September 1, 2022, campaign speech in Philadelphia.

“Biden's infamous ‘Red Speech,' which included the abuse of our Marines in its totalitarian imagery, painted a target on Trump and tens of millions of Americans for political suppression and worse,” said Judicial Watch President . “And, to make matters worse, the Pentagon is violating federal law by hiding records about Biden's misuse of our military in his attempt to intimidate Americans.”

In that speech, Biden, bathed in red light and waving his fists, claimed that former President and his supporters “threaten the very foundations of our republic.”

The speech was quickly compared to those delivered by military dictators Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini.

But it was Biden's use of uniformed Marines, standing behind Biden for dramatic effect, that drew accusations Biden illegally used the military for a campaign event.

Judicial Watch notes they filed the FOIA lawsuit after the Defense Department failed to comply with an October 31, 2022, FOIA request for “all communications within the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Secretary of the Navy, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and Commandant of Marine Corps – and those shared with the Military Office and Office of the President – regarding Marines standing behind the President during his September 1, 2022, speech in Philadelphia.”

Even , which appeared to have tried to alter the lighting of Biden's speech in its broadcast to make it appear less creepy, noted the problems with using at-attention Marines as props.

“Biden's use of Marines during Philadelphia speech adds to debate over politicization of the military,” read the headline of an analysis by CNN contributor Brianna Keilar.

“Whatever you think of this speech the military is supposed to be apolitical. Positioning Marines in uniform behind President Biden for a political speech flies in the face of that. It's wrong when Democrats do it. It's wrong when Republicans do it,” Keilar tweeted.

Biden's use of uniformed Marines in a campaign speech may be a violation of military code.

“President may be exempt from most provisions of the , but members of the military are prohibited from participating in partisan political activity while on duty or in uniform,” Mike Chamberlain, the director of watchdog Protect the Public's Trust, told Fox News Digital at the time.

“In addition to potential violations by their superiors for coercing their participation in this event, the administration may be exposing these service personnel to possible allegations of misconduct for improperly engaging in political activity,” Chamberlain said.

  1. CNN rightly points out that it was wrong for Biden to have Marines standing at attention during his political speech. But they ruin it by saying that it’s wrong when Republicans do it too, as if to imply this has been done before. I don’t recall that it has, but perhaps my memory fails me. Does anyone remember an occasion when a Republican president did this?

  2. Biden should have had uniformed Antifas there in their black terrorist outfits and masked faces instead of American Marines. Antifas would have been much more appropriate.

    • Entirely appropriate! However let us not forget that geriatric Brandon is not in charge. His handlers. most likely including Balack Obama, are pulling the puppet strings of that poor old charred brain stem.
