Pro-life Congresswoman Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., has introduced a bill to stop a Biden administration scheme to have federal agents traffick illegal alien children across state lines for taxpayer-subsidized abortions.
“The Biden administration is unlawfully using taxpayer money to transport pregnant, illegal alien children across state lines for late-term abortions,” said Boebert.
The Biden administration released new guidance in November mandating that HHS “make all reasonable efforts” to promote taxpayer-subsidized abortions for illegal alien children.
Those measures include trafficking children across state lines to evade state laws regulating abortion and promoting late-term abortion by ignoring guidelines limiting air travel by late-in-pregnancy minors.
In response, Senator Roger Marshall, R-Kan., and Boebert introduced the No Taxpayer Funds for Illegal Alien Abortions Act.
“My colleagues and I have introduced bicameral legislation to end these illegal and horrific policies once and for all. Taxpayer money should never fund abortions, whether for citizens or non-citizens,” Boebert said.
Bobert's bill “prohibits any employee or contractor with ICE or HHS from transporting any illegal immigrant across state lines for the purpose of procuring an abortion.
“Additionally, this bill prohibits any tax dollars allocated to either ICE or HHS from being used to pay for an elective abortion,” Boebert reports.
Biden's abortion trafficking rules flout the “Hyde Amendment,” a 1976 federal law prohibiting the use of federal funds for an elective abortion.
The Biden administration and congressional liberals interpret the law to mean only funding the procedure itself, but not the costs associated with seeking the abortion.
Current Senate cosponsors of Senator Marshall's bill include Sens. Marsha Blackburn, R-Tenn., Mike Braun, R-Ind., Steve Daines, R-Mont., Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., James Inhofe, R-Okla., James Lankford, R-Okla., Mike Lee, R-Utah, Roger Wicker, R-Miss., and Rick Scott, R-Fla.
Current House cosponsors of Congresswoman Boebert's bill include Reps. Jeff Duncan (SC-03), Mary Miller (IL-15), Paul Gosar (AZ-04), Doug Lamborn (CO-05), Ken Buck (CO-04), Greg Steube (FL-17), Mike Bost (IL-12), Ralph Norman (SC-05), Andy Biggs (AZ-05), Jody Hice (GA-10), Andrew Clyde (GA-09), Andy Harris (MD-01), Ronny Jackson (TX-13) and Diana Harshbarger (TN-01).
Pro-life organizations supporting the No Taxpayer Funds for Illegal Alien Abortions Act include the Family Research Council, the Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University, Students for Life and the Susan B. Anthony List.

Your article isn’t very clear on the differences between the two bills. Are they competing bills or complementary bills? Also, shouldn’t more departments be mentioned besides ICE and HHS? They could sneak around that bill with funds from other parts of Homeland Security or some other department/agency.
