DC’s Handpicked Democrat Nominee In Critical Virginia Seat Won’t Disclose Stance On Biden

In the two weeks since Donald Trump and Joe Biden debated for the whole world to see, many Congressional Democrat incumbents and nominees have been asked whether or not they support Joe Biden.

In Virginia, reactions have been mixed. Some such as Rep. Gerry Connolly and Sen. Mark Warner were not impressed by the President’s performance.

Others, such as Congressman Bobby Scott and VA-10 Democrat nominee and current State Senator Suhas Subramanyam, have said they’re all in on Biden.

One Democrat who has refused to answer this question in DC’s hand-picked Democrat nominee in VA-07, Eugene Vindman.

Multiple videos shared by Republican accounts this week show Vindman’s refusal to answer, such as this one from the NRCC:

Another such video was shared by the Virginia GOP:

His Republican opponent Derrick Anderson has called out Vindman on this issue.

Following Biden’s latest gaffe-filled speech Thursday night, Anderson once again demanded answers from Vindman via a statement issued by his campaign:

“Eugene Vindman has been hiding from voters for weeks following Biden’s disastrous debate, and now he’s silent following Biden’s terrible press conference. Does Vindman still support Joe Biden? His failure to tell voters the truth about that simple question demonstrates a fundamental lack of leadership. And the fact that he hasn’t called for a new President demonstrates a stunning loyalty to party politics and personal gain over the country. In contrast, I’m running for Congress for one simple reason: to help the people of my home district.”

Vindman has dodged media questions, questions from voters and questions from Anderson himself since Biden’s press conference.

Derrick Anderson is a native of Spotsylvania County, a graduate of Courtland High School, was in the Corps of Cadets at Virginia Tech, and received his J.D. from Georgetown Law. He is a former Special Forces “Green Beret” with 6 tours of duty overseas, including Afghanistan, Iraq, and various countries throughout the Middle East.

Anderson has been endorsed by a strong slate of Virginia leaders, including:

Attorney General Jason Miyares, Rep. Jen Kiggans, King George County Sheriff Chris Giles, former King George County Sheriff Steve Dempsey, Stafford County Sheriff David Decatur, Greene County Sheriff Steven Smith, Greene County Supervisor Davis Lamb, Spotsylvania County Supervisors Jake Lane and Gerald Childress, and three members of the Stafford County Board of Supervisors.

Anderson is also supported by national leaders, including:

Speaker Mike Johnson, Majority Whip Tom Emmer, Chairwoman Elise Stefanik, House Agriculture Committee Chair Glenn “GT” Thompson, Sen. Tom Cotton, and a number of other prominent elected officials and military veterans.
