Democrats Defund Homeland Security As Jihadist Terrorism Surges

Democrats are recklessly endangering the safety of all Americans here at home by blocking funds for our federal law enforcement agencies at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that combat terrorism.

This, as the jihadist threat, now in cahoots with the neo-Marxist left, is surging, and the U.S. and Israel are actively engaged in massive military operations against the Islamist regime in Iran.

Still, the left, and complicit media, despite the mounting recent examples, downplay the threat, often referring to the terrorists as suspects or gunmen rather than terrorists. They also avoid noting their Muslim identity and motivation, unless the terrorists are officially connected to ISIS.

They will also ignore the number of these terrorists who are foreign born naturalized citizens or Muslims born in the U.S. of foreign parents. But the facts don’t lie. Jihadist terrorism is growing in America, and it will only get worse with the left fanning the flames and Democrats defunding our federal law enforcement.

We are not yet three weeks into March, but in the first two weeks America suffered two high-profile Islamic terror attacks on the same day. This, following the start of the conflict with Iran.

On March 12, a 41-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen, Ayman Mohamad Ghazali, rammed a vehicle into Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan. The terrorist was armed with a rifle and had explosives in the vehicle. He was fatally shot by security guards after exchanging gunfire.

Thankfully, no congregants or children at the on-site school were harmed.

Also, on March 12, a terrorist gunman opened fire in a classroom at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, where an Army ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corps) class was being held.

The terrorist killed one person, the instructor, an Army Lt. Colonel, and wounded two others before being taken down and killed by an ROTC cadet.

The FBI identified the attacker as Mohamed Bailor Jalloh, a 36-year-old naturalized immigrant from Africa and former Virginia National Guard member who had been convicted of supporting ISIS before being released early from prison in 2024.

Meanwhile, only days before the Michigan and Virginia attacks, two suspects were accused of throwing improvised explosives at anti-Islam protesters outside the New York City mayor’s home in what authorities described as an ISIS-inspired attack. Both were sons of Muslim immigrants.

Mayor Zohran Mamdani, of course, is a foreign-born Muslim, and open supporter of Muslim terrorist-adjacent causes. He initially tried to conflate the protesters targeted by the attacks at Gracie Mansion with the Muslim attackers, while calling the victims white supremacists.

In Mamdani’s Big Apple hundreds of terrorist supporters now openly celebrate Iran’s anti-Israel Quds Day (March 14), chanting “we support Hezbollah” and Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard (IRGC), “death to Israel” and “USA go to hell,” as America battles Quds Force terrorists in Iran.

In early March, another terrorist killed three people and injured over a dozen others in Austin, Texas, during a drive by mass shooting. Law enforcement is investigating whether the shooter was inspired by recent military strikes on Iran. That is very likely as the suspect was wearing a shirt with an Iranian flag design and the words “Property of Allah” on it.

January 1, 2025, an ISIS-inspired domestic terrorist, Shamsud-Din Bahar Jabbar, rammed a pickup truck into a New Year’s Day crowd on Bourbon Street, New Orleans, Louisiana. The attack killed 14 victims and injured 57 others before the perpetrator was killed in a shootout with police.

In October 2024, a 22-year-old terrorist shot a Jewish man walking to a synagogue and subsequently fired on law enforcement, according to the Anti-Defamation League. (RELATED: Leading Senate Candidate’s Tattoo Controversy Explodes Again After New Comments)

Also in October 2024, a teenage wannabe terrorist was arrested for conspiring to commit terrorism, inspired by ISIS to attack a Phoenix Pride parade. Someone should inform the “Queers for Palestine” group about that.

But these attacks and plots may just be the tip of the jihadist threat iceberg.

As The Times reported:

The latest plots on American soil are a worrying sign that Isis is regaining its power and appeal among young men in the West radicalized online, in part, by the war in Gaza and now Iran, terrorism experts told the Times.

The number of federal court cases involving attacks and disrupted plots by Isis-inspired suspects has risen every year since the conflict in Gaza started, from an all-time low of eight in 2023 to 17 last year, according to data from the National Counterterrorism Innovation, Technology and Education Center (NCITE) at the University of Nebraska.

“The overseas conflicts, be it the war in Gaza or Iran, provide a twisted justification for Americans inspired by the jihadist ideology to believe that their time to attack in support of the movement is now,” said Seamus Hughes, senior researcher at NCITE.

And I would add, the far left’s obsession with Gaza and Israel dovetails perfectly with the jihadist agenda. They provide a safe haven for these zealots to swim before they attack. Meanwhile, Democrats cripple DHS and our ability to protect Americans.
