The Right Reverend Mariann Edgar Budde manipulated and weaponized The word of God to make a political statement towards President Donald Trump at the National Prayer Service at the Washington National Cathedral today.

Instead of giving an uplifting sermon it was a long-winded reprimand of Trump’s actions and shaming him for his administration’s goals. In a politically weaponized service, Bishop Budde called for Donald Trump to step in and “protect” LGBT children while also pleading for him to stop deporting illegal immigrants, all at the so-called “bipartisan” Interfaith Prayer Service.
“In the name of our God, I ask you to have mercy upon the people in our country who are scared now,” Budde stated. “There are gay, lesbian and transgender children in Democratic, Republican and independent families. Some who fear for their lives.”
“The people who pick our crops and clean our office buildings, who labor in poultry farms and meat-packing plants, who wash the dishes after we eat in restaurants and work the night shifts in hospitals. They may not be citizens, or have the proper documentation, but the vast majority of immigrants are not criminals.”
Someone should tell her it’s not appropriate to attack someone in church. And point out that anyone here illegally is a criminal.

Trump was underwhelmed
Melania and JD Vance are Catholic and probably don’t enjoy multi-denominational service very much. Trump has attended many but this one he didn’t particularly like. This woman also stole attention away from the other preachers and ministers which was a selfish move and reflects badly on the Episcopal Church.

What this pretend bishop did in her admonishment of Trump and Vance is the very reason I left the woke Episcopal Church more than a year ago. She has no business being a priest, let alone Bishop. She’s an embarrassment!
She was terribly wrong to do that and needs to be reprimanded.

This preacher will do well in California or Vermont. preaching seems to be her asset, but I didn’t hear anything from President Trump or Vice President Vance that should put fear into the LBG children. Instead the preacher implied that they should be afraid with such a performance of self. I feel sorry for the President and Vice President to have to listen to such blather

This woman pretending to be a bishop….is a DISGRACE to the human race. She should be divested of all religious interferences into things she knows nothing about!!! She is one who with many others was trying to change the world for the worst!
