From Power To Perversion: The Corruption And Depravity Of The World Economic Forum

The World Economic Forum was not always a punchline. Once draped in the velvet language of progress, innovation, and multilateral cooperation, Davos promised an annual symposium where the world’s elites would set aside self-interest to solve humanity’s biggest challenges. But the past tense is no accident. The forum today is not a temple of wisdom, it is a brothel of globalist self-delusion, run by elites who fly private jets to preach carbon neutrality and who lecture ordinary citizens about equality while groping their assistants behind closed doors.

To the casual observer, the WEF might still appear to be a high-minded gathering of the world’s best and brightest. But peer closer, and the façade cracks. What lies behind it is not merely hypocrisy or elitism. It is institutional rot: a culture marinated in sexual deviance, financial impropriety and moral impunity, presided over by a founder who used the organization’s resources as a personal pleasure dome.

Recent whistleblower accounts and journalistic investigations have shattered the illusion of principled global leadership. Klaus Schwab, the forum’s founder and until recently its high priest of stakeholder capitalism, has now resigned under the weight of allegations that would shame a banana republic dictator. The claims against Schwab are numerous and damning. He is accused of sexual misconduct, including lewd advances and inappropriate comments toward female employees. One example: Schwab allegedly placed his crotch near a woman’s face while propping his leg on her desk, musing aloud that he needed to find her a man, and would put himself at the top of the list were he not married.

This behavior was not anomalous. According to internal reports, the WEF harbored a broader culture of harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Female employees recount being propositioned, ridiculed, and ultimately fired for reporting abuse. A Black woman described how her manager joked about setting her wig on fire. Others described how senior executives impersonated medical professionals to coerce young women into removing their shirts under the guise of medical checks.

But perhaps the most chilling revelation is this: the forum seems to attract, if not actively incubate, sexual predators. It is not simply that men with power behave badly. Rather, the WEF appears to foster an ecosystem where such behavior is tolerated, normalized and in some cases, rewarded. Complaints went unanswered, victims were silenced and executives faced no consequences, until the stories became too numerous, too detailed, and too public to ignore.

It is tempting to dismiss these incidents as isolated or unrelated to the forum’s broader mission. But that argument fails. An institution that sets the moral tone for global policy must be held to a higher standard. When the same organization that lectures the world on equity and justice shields its own elite from accountability, it forfeits any claim to moral authority.

This rot was not confined to matters of sexual impropriety. Klaus Schwab is alleged to have treated the WEF’s resources as his personal bank account. Junior employees were reportedly instructed to withdraw thousands in cash for him, hotel massages were billed to the Forum (though his spokespeople claim he reimbursed them), and a $30 million estate, renovated with another $20 million, was controlled and partially reserved for his family’s use. Schwab’s wife, Hilde, is accused of arranging token business meetings as cover for lavish travel billed to the organization. Attempts by the Forum’s risk committee to investigate were allegedly blocked by Schwab himself, until the board intervened and demanded his resignation.

The moral and operational implosion of the WEF raises deeper questions about who attends and funds this institution, and why. The list of Davos alumni reads like a rogues’ gallery of the modern degenerate elite. Take Bill Gates: longtime attendee, tech magnate and philanthropist who flew on Jeffrey Epstein’s jet, visited his island and whose marriage collapsed under the weight of his personal entanglements. Or Bill Clinton, another Davos favorite, whose involvement with Epstein and whose conduct with a White House intern are public record. Prince Andrew? Present at Davos, named in Epstein’s civil suits, and stripped of royal duties due to his involvement in the scandal. Leonardo DiCaprio, the actor-turned-activist, attended Davos while being listed in Epstein’s documents.

These are not coincidences. A pattern emerges: individuals with documented histories of sexual misconduct, ethical lapses, or deeply compromised personal associations flock to the WEF. Either they are drawn to its permissive culture, or it is the culture itself that converts the once-ambitious into the now-debauched. This is not mere guilt by association. It is guilt by repetition.

And the culture at Davos is uniquely corrosive. Elites sequestered in the Alps, shielded from public scrutiny, marinate in an environment of sycophancy, luxury and unchecked ego. There are no reporters on the record, no open proceedings and no real accountability. Instead, there are parties, panels and prostitutes. Swiss police once estimated that demand for sex work increases dramatically during Davos, with escort agencies marketing directly to attendees. When a conference becomes indistinguishable from a bacchanalia, something fundamental has gone wrong.

To send money to this institution is to subsidize vice. To attend it is to endorse duplicity. To legitimize it is to betray every principle of transparency, equality and justice it pretends to uphold. And yet corporations, governments and celebrities continue to pour funds into the Forum, eager for prestige and proximity to power, indifferent to the reputational stain.

But the tide is turning. Schwab’s resignation, coming not in a moment of reflective humility but as a hasty reaction to scandal, is a sign that the edifice is crumbling. Companies that continue to fund the WEF are not investing in solutions, they are underwriting rot. Politicians who make pilgrimages to Davos are not seeking cooperation, they are signaling allegiance to an oligarchic order increasingly alien to the values of democratic governance.

A serious civilization must decide whom it honors and whom it condemns. The World Economic Forum has rendered judgment on itself. It stands convicted not merely by the testimonies of the abused, but by the shamelessness of its leadership, the venality of its financiers and the decadence of its culture. Let us take the WEF at its word: it is a platform for global transformation. And let the first transformation be this — defund it, denounce it and depopulate its mountain citadel.

History may one day ask why the architects of our global order so often flew to Switzerland to bathe in hypocrisy. The answer may be simple: because no one told them to stop. It is time, at long last, to tell them.

Not another dollar. Not another endorsement. Not another Davos.
