Not long after taking office, Biden and Harris dismantled the FBI’s reliable crime-reporting system, replacing it in 2021 with a new, “optional” system that allows local law enforcement agencies to choose whether they want to submit their crime data. This intentional obfuscation has resulted in at least 6,000 jurisdictions—nearly 30% of the country—opting out of reporting crime statistics. Among these areas are crime-ridden cities like New York and Los Angeles. This isn’t incompetence; this is a deliberate effort to craft a narrative where crime appears to be on the decline. It’s not. Crime is skyrocketing.
The recent presidential debate perfectly captured the problem. ABC moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis falsely fact-checked Donald Trump when he claimed that violent crime had surged under the Biden-Harris regime. They confidently stated that the FBI’s data showed a decline in crime. What they didn’t tell viewers was that the FBI data is incomplete, omitting about 30% of the country’s crime statistics, including many high-crime urban areas. Trump’s claims were correct, but the moderators dismissed his statements, relying on skewed FBI data that excluded the nation’s worst crime zones.
Kamala Harris plays an equal role in this deception. Her soft-on-crime ideology has long been part of her political playbook. As a prosecutor in California, she championed “restorative justice” policies that deprioritized law and order, setting the stage for the disastrous crime policies we see today. With Harris at the helm, Democrat cities are enacting policies that downgrade felonies and protect violent criminals. In New York City, District Attorney Alvin Bragg—funded by leftist billionaire George Soros—has downgraded more than half of violent felonies to misdemeanors. These dangerous criminals are often funneled into diversion programs, ensuring their crimes don’t even make it into crime statistics.
The Biden-Harris regime didn’t just allow crime to spiral out of control—they actively worked to hide it. When the FBI first reported a 2.1% decrease in violent crime for 2022, Biden and Harris were quick to tout this as evidence of their success. But just weeks before the 2024 election, the FBI quietly revised these figures. The reality? Violent crime had increased by 4.5%, including 1,699 additional murders that were originally missed. The revised data showed an increase of 80,029 violent crimes, including 7,780 more rapes, 33,459 more robberies, and 37,091 aggravated assaults. This revision isn’t a minor adjustment—it’s a glaring indictment of how this administration manipulates data to suit its political agenda.
The situation is even worse when you consider data from independent sources. The National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS), which relies on reports from victims rather than law enforcement agencies, paints an even grimmer picture. It shows a 55% rise in violent crime since Biden and Harris took office. That’s right—violent crime has surged by over half under their regime. Yet, they continue to gaslight the public, pretending we’re safer than ever. This isn’t just incompetence; it’s willful deceit.
And it gets worse. If approximately 30% of jurisdictions aren’t reporting crime data, then the actual increase in violent crime is likely much higher. If the current 55% rise is based on only 70% of reported data, an extrapolation suggests the real increase could be closer to 79%. The true scope of this crisis is likely far worse than what Biden, Harris, and their media allies want us to believe.
Kamala Harris’s influence on the national crime agenda is undeniable. The deception doesn’t stop with incomplete crime data. Look at Chicago, where shootings are so frequent that the city recently canceled its contract with a gunfire-detection company. Why? Because gunfire is so rampant that police now only respond if someone is actually hit by a bullet. This is what passes for “public safety” under Biden and Harris. In New York City, violent assaults and robberies have risen so sharply that Governor Kathy Hochul had to deploy National Guard troops to patrol the subway system. Yet, progressive prosecutors like Alvin Bragg and Attorney General Letitia James continue to downgrade or ignore these crimes altogether.
What Biden and Harris have created is a perfect storm of deceit and neglect. They’ve manipulated crime data to craft a false narrative that crime is declining, while communities across the nation are torn apart by violence. When the FBI initially reported a 2.1% drop in violent crime, the regime celebrated. But now that the FBI has quietly revised these numbers to show a 4.5% increase, and independent surveys report a 55% rise—with the real figure likely closer to 79%—their silence is deafening. This regime isn’t just complicit in the crime wave—they’re actively covering it up.
Americans aren’t blind. Polls show that a majority of voters believe crime has worsened over the past four years, especially in Democrat-run cities. Many report that they or someone they know has been a victim of crime. Yet Biden and Harris continue to gaslight the public, relying on skewed data and selective reporting to claim success where there is none.
