Republicans on the House Oversight and Reform Committee are demanding answers from Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
Their concern comes from the Biden administration’s decision to establish a controversial new position at the State Department — U.S. Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice.
Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.) recently sent an open letter, co-signed by 15 Republican colleagues, to Blinken to investigate the administration’s creation of another unnecessary and divisive position:
Today, House Committee on Oversight and Reform Ranking Member James Comer (R-Ky.) and Oversight Committee Republicans raised concerns over the Biden Administration’s push to spend taxpayer dollars on the creation of a new “Special Representative for Racial Equity and Justice” position within the U.S. Department of State to push divisive ideologies. To understand the purpose and scope of this new taxpayer-funded position, the Republican lawmakers request Secretary Antony Blinken provide all documents and communications about the creation of the role and a briefing.
“The Special Representative position continues the Biden Administration’s prioritization of a radical, progressive agenda the American people consistently reject,” wrote the lawmakers. “Committee Republicans question the necessity of this new position. Further, we are concerned about wasting taxpayer dollars on an undefined role which categorizes and further divides Americans instead of focusing on the Department’s mission to ‘protect and promote U.S. security, prosperity, and democratic values and shape an international environment in which all Americans can thrive.’ The Special Representative is the latest evidence the Biden Administration is willing to devote time, funding, and other government resources to enact divisive policies.”
On June 17, 2022, the Biden Administration appointed Desirée Cormier Smith as the Department’s first Special Representative as part of the State Department’s Equity Action Plan. According to media reports, the Special Representative will be tasked with “institutionalizing an enterprise-wide approach to integrating racial and ethnic equity” and countering disinformation. Recently, the Biden Administration attempted to install one of the most prolific purveyors of disinformation to the Department of Homeland Security’s “Disinformation Governance Board” and has supported extreme tactics to achieve preferred policy outcomes.
“The Special Representative makes the United States the global mouthpiece for divisive ideologies rather than democracy, equality, and freedom. As the American people struggle under the Biden Administration’s domestic and foreign policy, Committee Republicans question the value and wisdom of continuing to pursue an agenda grounded in waste and division,” continued the lawmakers. “Committee Republicans are concerned with the Biden Administration’s emphasis on “equity,” which—by the Administration’s highest-ranked officials’ own admissions—often runs contrary to the American ideal of equality. The Biden Administration’s prior attempts to shoehorn this pernicious ideology into every corner of the federal government have failed, and Committee Republicans urge reconsideration of this latest change within the Department.”

They need to demand that these Leftists publicly describe what an example of “equity” looks like! Because we CANNOT have policies that either include or exclude people based on their race without regard for merit. When we choose athletes for sports teams, it’s based on who is the best for the position! We should NOT be basing any aspect of society on “equity” if “equity” means that qualifications and merit are ignored!
Biden’s main objective seems to be to put a sharp stick in the eye of every American left in the country. The excludes those who live here but hate America like him. Anyone expecting this to end before Biden does is deluding themselves. He has no intentions of doing anything else except punish, infuriate, and malign everything American. Just ask him. Everything, which really wasn’t much, he said he would do during the 2020 election, he has tried to do. From destroying the fossil fuel industry to undoing everything he could find of Trumps good works. If not elected by voter fraud, he as elected by promising to be a uniter and then not do anything like that. He himself was the fraud. He is plain and simply a thug and does everything he can to prove it every day.
Just one more example of how the democrats find a way to expand the federal government. Now we’ll have one more non-elected left wing liberal that will try to run roughshod over the working citizens to carry out their own agenda. The sooner we can purge all democrats, at all levels, from local to federal, from our government, the sooner we can get this country back on the right track.

I believe that assigning individuals by the priority of race to meet quotas is against our Constitution. In most cases personnel assignments should be based merit, demonstrated capability and protentional.
Our public schools should be vastly improved so that the students graduate with adequate skills to go forward as well as understanding of state and national Civics, respect for their families and others. Yes, the parents should be involved in shaping the curriculum and how the classes are presented to reach agreed requirements. Precious time must be used well.
