Shock Poll Finds Democrat Voters Want Biden and Dems to Cooperate With GOP

-

A new poll brings more bad news for President , with Republicans strongly in favor of blocking his liberal agenda even if it creates gridlock – and a strong majority of Democrat voters wanting their party to cooperate with Republicans.

“More than six-in-ten Republicans and independents who lean toward the (64 percent) say that Republican congressional leaders should ‘stand up' to Biden on matters that are important to GOP voters, even if this makes it harder to address critical problems facing the country” Pew reports.

Only “about half as many Republicans – 34 percent – would prefer to see the party's congressional leaders work with Biden, even if doing so requires them to make concessions that disappoint some GOP voters, a new Pew Research Center survey has found,” Pew notes.

Surprisingly, it also found that Democrat voters want their party to abandon its strident agenda and work with Republicans.

“Democrats are more likely to say they would support efforts by their leaders to find common ground with the other party. A majority of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents (58 percent) say that Biden should try as best he can to work with GOP leaders to accomplish things, even at the cost of disappointing some of Biden's voters,” Pew finds.

That's a double-digit increase from last January when 48 percent of Democrats wanted their party to compromise with Republicans.

“Roughly four-in-ten Democrats (41 percent) prefer that Biden stand up to Republicans, even if that makes it harder to address the nation's important problems,” Pew notes.

The findings may be driven by deep dissatisfaction with Biden himself.

The new survey “finds that most Americans continue to rate Biden's job performance negatively: 60 percent of the public disapproves of the way he is handling his job as president, while 38 percent approve. Views of Biden's job performance are largely unchanged across Center surveys dating back to last July.”

“Nearly eight-in-ten adults (78 percent) rate current conditions as poor (32 percent) or only fair (47 percent). The share rating conditions positively has ticked up slightly since October – to 21 percent from 17 percent – but remains lower than it was one year ago (28 percent),” Pew finds.

“Even as inflation appears to have leveled off since last summer, large shares of the public continue to report concerns about prices. Three-quarters of adults say they are very concerned about the price of food and consumer goods, nearly identical to the share who said this in the October survey,” Pew notes.

The were conducted Jan. 18-24, 2023, among 5,152 members of Pew Research Center's nationally representative American Trends Panel.

  1. Yes that’s what I am talking about. Let’s get our people together . We need to work together to save our children and country . God bless

  2. “More than six-in-ten Republicans and independents who lean toward the Republican Party (64 percent) say that Republican congressional leaders should ‘stand up’ to Biden on matters that are important to GOP voters, even if this makes it harder to address critical problems facing the country” Pew reports.

It would be interesting to see the ACTUAL QUESTIONS asked. I submit that the actual position of many respondents is that blocking the agenda of the Democrats IS addressing the most critical problems facing the country. The very phrasing of the statement above suggests the questions were biased against my position.

  3. The actual questions asked are not stated in this article. I submit that in they are biased against the actual views of many of the respondents. For example, the reported findings are that the majority of Republicans support standing up to the Democrat agenda, even if it makes it harder to address critical problems the country faces. I believe MANY of those responding believe standing up to the Democrat agenda is a CRITICAL part of addressing those problems. Stated differently, many believe the Democrat agenda IS a critical problem that must be reversed.

  4. No we want this whole bunch arrested prosecuted immediately biden, his administration, his family members anyone else involved in taking America Down, that includes politicians, judges, lawyers, governors, millionaires, billionaires, that paying for the destruction of America and the military heads that are not protecting American People, America boarders, above all Our Constitution As Written

  5. if the republicans stand up the dems will label them as obstructionist do-nothings. if they compromise and work with biden the dems will confirm their ability to hoodwink at will while republican constituents will once again see their representatives take cover in their comfortable position of subservience. . . .either way it’s a lose/lose until enough congress critters find the courage of their convictions. not holding my breath.

  6. I want Biden and his cackling sidekick impeached and remove from office. Pronto!
That’s my poll answer, and I’m sticking with it.
