The Ideological Question Trump Revived

Despite CNN’s Kaitlan Collins smugly and erroneously chiding President Trump for branding the Democratic Socialists of America as “communists,” Trump is right.

He may not be fully versed in the nuances, theory, or history of communism, but Trump understands that today’s socialists, including the DSA, are nothing more than thinly veiled communists.

Like the early Mensheviks, DSA values and ideals are based on Marxism, and their goals are to install communism, in one form or another, in the United States. And these smiling socialists (yes, I’m looking at you Zohran Mamdani) — unlike the Bolsheviks such as Lenin, Mao, or Fidel Castro — are generally not violent or revolutionary in their initial approach.

Instead, they are taking the “democratic” approach of gaining power via elections, just as Adolf Hitler and the Nazis did in Germany or Hugo Chavez did in Venezuela.  Modern American Democrats have long been practicing Fabian Socialism founded in the U.K., the slow steady practice of moving the country “progressively,” or incrementally, to the left within a democratic capitalist system.

But the DSA and their comrades have lost patience with that slow-motion approach, especially when faced with the strong backlash they have received from Trump and MAGA Republicans. They still want to achieve power through elections, but with far more radical agenda afterwards.

This is why they are making their move now. This, and the growing ignorance and stupidity of America’s increasingly socialist youth, the explosion of antisemitism, and the strange alliance with Islamists, creating a perfect storm for their current surge.

While still trying to appear just slightly more left-wing than their already left-wing Democrat brethren, they are in fact, far closer to closet communists waiting to pounce.

Why do I believe I know more about socialism and communism than Kaitlin Collins and her ilk?

Well, I have spent my entire life dealing with, studying, teaching and writing about, and actively combating communism in its many forms and guises.

From the communist revolution in Cuba that my parents endured and ultimately fled in the early 1960s, to the radical American leftists (including prominent Democrats) supporting those same communists in Cuba, and El Salvador and Nicaragua, during the 1980s, and later in Venezuela in the 1990s, my life has revolved around unmasking and defeating communism.

My military and intelligence service was also partly spent preparing for war with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), as well as Soviet and Chinese communist-sponsored infiltration, subversion, and espionage inside our country.

Long before Trump or MAGA, I was studying communist warfare tactics, guerrilla movements and their complementary “community organizing,” communist subversion and infiltration campaigns, overt and covert propaganda, and everything in between.

I know the academic and theoretical nuances between Marxist, Socialist, and Communist, but also know that in practice today they mean very little. And regardless, many DSA leaders don’t hide their communist views or their goals. One of the DSA’s top leaders himself, David Jenkins, has said the DSA endgame is full-blown communism.

It doesn’t get much clearer than that. And Jenkins sits at the top of the DSA hierarchy.

As one observer noted:

He [Jenkins] is a top DSA leader and a member of the National Political Committee, the organization’s highest governing body. He is not a co-chair, but he does sit on DSA’s national leadership, which effectively acts as the organization’s board of directors.

But it isn’t just Jenkins, the DSA contains several internal caucuses — such as the DSA Communist Caucus and the Red Star Caucus, and the Marxist Unity Group — that explicitly state their mission is to work toward a communist society and eliminate capitalist exploitation.

Meanwhile, in a video, the DSA co-chair describes explains the disdain that the DSA feels toward the Democrat Party. And how the DSA is infiltrating and using the Democrat Party as the vehicle for their radical own takeover:

We’re using the Democratic Party as a ballot-access vehicle, not because we share its goals. We build our own organization, get elected under the Democratic label, caucus with Democrats when it’s useful, and push our own agenda from the inside. We see the Democratic establishment as an obstacle, not a home.

Following a long history of infiltration, coups, and usurpations, the communists in the DSA may soon fully take over the Democrat Party and turn it into a more openly communist organization. By then, everyone will see how stupid and naïve Kaitlan Collins really was.
