Trump’s joint address to Congress, which celebrated achievements like reducing illegal border crossings and honoring victims of illegal immigration, was met with significant approval from a majority of Americans. According to polling, many people, across party lines, were impressed by Trump’s speech, which focused on tangible issues like crime and the economy, taking an optimistic tone.
Instead of engaging with the president’s message or even observing in neutrality, many Democratic lawmakers staged protests, disrupted the speech, and walked out in a display that, for many, only served to undermine their party’s credibility. Some lawmakers held signs throughout the speech, including messages like “Save Medicaid” and “Musk Steals,” while others refused to applaud notable moments, such as when Trump awarded a 13-year-old cancer survivor as an honorary member of the Secret Service. In a moment that should have been unifying, many Democrats chose to remain silent, further distancing themselves from their constituents.
This behavior has arguably contributed to a growing sense of alienation between the Democratic Party and the general public. The public perception, as evidenced in polling, is that Trump’s message resonated, while the Democrats’ actions came across as petty and unprofessional. But “The View” co-host Sunny Hostin praised Rep. Al Green for his disruptive actions during the speech.
Hostin, in a segment on the show, lamented that more Democratic lawmakers did not walk out in solidarity with Green after he was removed for shouting at the president during the address. She even called Green’s outburst an act of “opposition,” stating that what the party needs is active resistance, not passivity.
“I think what I saw when Representative Al Green stood up and said ‘you don’t have a mandate to take away Medicaid’ and he was tossed out, I expected the rest of his Democratic caucus, the rest of his colleagues to walk out with him because alone you can survive, but together you thrive. That is the energy that they need, they should’ve stood in solidarity.”
In essence, Hostin encouraged more of the same unproductive and petulant behavior that many Americans are already rejecting. Her praise of Green and her insistence on more Democratic lawmakers following suit only furthers the perception that the Democratic Party is more interested in political theater than addressing the serious issues that the majority of the American people care about.
As polling consistently shows, the American people are not interested in endless obstruction or theatrics but in leadership that can rise above partisan divides and address the real issues affecting their daily lives. Unfortunately, it seems that many Democrats are too focused on scoring political points to notice that they’re losing touch with the voters they desperately need to win over. If the party continues down this path, it risks further disconnection from the American electorate, something that could have significant consequences in future elections.

The stupidity of the Democrat Party during Trump’s speech was absolutely astonishing. They have learned nothing from the election and grow more childish with each passing day. The American people got to see them for who they really are with their silly paddles, antics and lack of good manners on full display. Americans saw it and I don’t think they liked it at all. They don’t want illegals, criminals and drugs coming into our country through an open border. They don’t want the crime it brings. They want girls to be girls and boys to be boys, don’t want schools teaching DEI and huge corruption dems have been engaging in .
As always, what the “ladies” of The View demonstrated was their constant penchant for taking anything related to Pres. Trump and his fellow patriots and twisting it to fit what they see as an agenda to take down the democratic machine. They insist on painting them in a false light, accusing them of all kinds of diabolical intent…even tho’ THEY are the ones intent on ruining our country. When the dust finally settles in the end, I predict We the People will be much better off…and these biddies will be left without anyone to scream at ~ except, of course ~ their fellow banshees.

I just can’t wrap my head around people spewing how President Trump is destroying America! They should be thankful he is even trying to take care of our beloved country! The past four years were horrible and we were left with a mess-not that anyone in the White House cared! I am so grateful President Trump is even willing to take on all of the naysayers. Perhaps the money he is giving back to the people should not be given to the deranged Trump haters-wouldn’t that make more sense?
