Multiple people were injured Tuesday afternoon during a shooting at Kentucky State University, a historically Black institution in Frankfort.
Frankfort Police said officers responded to reports of an active aggressor on the south campus at approximately 3:35 p.m. One suspect is now in custody, but KSU remains on lockdown as law enforcement continues to secure the area.
University officials and Kentucky’s governor have confirmed multiple victims, though their conditions have not yet been released.

Local news outlets report the incident began near a dormitory, with initial 911 calls indicating that three people had been shot. Police continue to sweep the south campus as the investigation unfolds.
