Concealed Carrier Holding 6-Pack of Beer Shoots Armed Robber

-

CASSOPOLIS, MI – A concealed carrier gas station customer shot an armed robber all while holding a 6-pack of beer.

On July 27, 2023, a man with a Michigan concealed carry permit was about to purchase a 6-pack of beer at a gas station when he noticed a man walk into the store and attempt to rob the clerk.

The concealed carrier heard the man say, “You know why I'm here,” inferring that he was robbing the store. He backtracked, got behind some shelves, drew his gun, and fired seven shots at the robber, striking him in the arm, back, and face.

The armed citizen ran to his car to get another loaded magazine and held the wounded suspect at gunpoint until police arrived. The suspect was transported to the hospital, later released, and has three charges, including armed robbery.

The man who shot the suspect told police that he didn't see a weapon but could see the look of fear on the clerk's face. He didn't see the box cutter the suspect was armed with. The investigation is pending, and it is unclear if the concealed carrier will be charged.

It will be interesting to see if any charges arise from it against the armed citizen. I don't like the fact that he told the police that he couldn't see a weapon. That's why it is always best to talk to your lawyer first, and one of the reasons you should have insurance such as USCCA, which provides you with a lawyer.

You'll also notice that when he drew his gun, the holster came out with it, causing him to pull the holster off the gun before using it. You should always carry a holster that is secure, and that allows you to draw your gun without pulling the holster out with it.

  1. Do you guys have an editor to make sense of the first copy? The photo of the guy with the pistol INSIDE his belt begs the question of how many waist sizes bigger does one need for that carry?

    • Depends on how you’re built, and the size of your gut, and the size of your gun. I don’t need larger size jeans.

  2. Now the armchair quarterbacks get to decide whether the citizen first-responder was _really_ concerned for the safety of others and/or himself when he drew and fired, or whether he was “just another White guy waiting for the opportunity to…”
…oh, wait. Never mind. Nothing to see here.
