An Indiana State Senate race just took a bizarre turn.
Democrat Senate hopeful Andrew Dezelan was arrested Sunday night after allegedly going door-to-door in a Fishers neighborhood while under the influence of cocaine, according to local reports.
Police say the incident began around 8 p.m., when an officer responded to a resident’s complaint about someone soliciting in the area, WFYI reported. When the officer approached Dezelan’s vehicle and began questioning him, the 38-year-old candidate tried to explain the difference between canvassing and soliciting, claiming he had permission from a Homeowners Association member to be there.
But officers quickly became suspicious.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Dezelan was “speaking rapidly, sweating, and had pinpoint pupils”—all potential signs of drug use. When asked to step out of the vehicle, Dezelan allegedly put the car in reverse before eventually complying.
The situation escalated from there.
Police say Dezelan resisted briefly, prompting the officer to take him to the ground and place him in handcuffs. A subsequent search of his vehicle turned up a small plastic bag containing a white powdery substance, which field-tested positive for cocaine, according to WRTV.
He now faces charges of cocaine possession and resisting law enforcement.

The arrest marks a stunning development for the longtime Democratic operative, who previously spent 11 years as policy director for the Indiana Senate Democratic Caucus. On the campaign trail, Dezelan has pitched himself as a candidate who “understands the real challenges facing small business owners and retirees navigating Medicare,” according to his campaign website.
He is one of three Democrats vying for Indiana Senate District 31, alongside three Republican candidates in what was already shaping up to be a competitive race, WFYI reported earlier this month.

John Kennedy here. The last fundraising deadline passed — and we came up short. Now the woke crowd is celebrating, saying “Kennedy’s finished.” Let’s prove them wrong. Chip in $25, $50, or whatever you can to close the gap and keep fighting.

So he has pending charges and he is STILL GOING TO RUN! Any GOP candidate would have been OUTTED immediately, but this guy has possession charges pending, in WI and I thought a DUI? You got to love the true integrity of the demo-degenerate! Non existant!
And, all he had to say to reporters was “snort, snort”.
The so called Democrat Party does not have too many,if any, sane clean members these days.
