Fmr. Proud Boys Chairman Sentenced

-

Former Proud Boys Chairman has learned his fate.

District Judge , a Trump appointee, sentenced the 39-year-old Tarrio to 22 years in prison, followed by three years of supervised release – the longest sentence for a Jan. 6 defendant yet.

Prosecutors sought 33 years imprisonment for the Proud Boy's ex-leader. A jury convicted Tarrio last May of seditious conspiracy for his role in instigating the U.S. Capitol riot.

CNBC reports:

The Department of Justice sought to put Tarrio behind bars for 33 years, saying he used his skills as a “naturally charismatic leader” and “savvy propagandist” to organize and execute the plan to forcibly stop the peaceful transfer of power from former President Donald Trump to President Joe Biden.

A defense attorney for Tarrio had asked the judge to issue a sentence of no longer than 15 years.

Before he was sentenced, Tarrio approached the bench to express remorse and disavow some of his statements surrounding the events of Jan. 6.

“To the men and women of who answered the call that day, I'm sorry,” Tarrio said, NBC News reported.

Seditious conspiracy is a broad, rarely-used statute reserved for conspiring against the authority or legitimacy of the state.

The only similar case in the 20th century occurred when federal prosecutors secured a seditious conspiracy conviction against armed Puerto Rican nationalists who stormed the U.S. Capitol in 1954.

  1. We need to investigate this Judges decision! If he’s being or have been bought off then the Judge needs to be put on trial. These people just walked into the congress building destroying nothing. Video’s show that the White House Police was opening the doors and giving them tours… SO WTF, we need Law and Order…

  2. Political dissidents tossed in the slammer. Xi is so proud, no wonder he’s always got a presumptuous little smile on his face whenever he is reminded of his loyal little puppet show in America, the Biden administration and their flying monkey propaganda media.

  3. If this man is sentenced to over 30 years in prison, why aren’t the ANTIFA leaders, plural, in prison for a minimum of 50 years? Their terrorist actions are FAR FAR more serious and damaging than the leader of a small group of patriots who call themselves Proud Boys.
is our court system SO CORRUPT that they cannot see their bias? Their hypocracy?

  4. What about Ray Epps, the instagator believed to be FBI with audio and video of him stirring up the crowd to go into the bldgs?
