Judge Tanya Chutkan has paused former President Donald Trump’s federal election interference case amid appeals to toss it.

Chutkan’s decision to grant Trump’s request for a stay of all proceedings in his D.C. criminal case. She acknowledged she no longer has jurisdiction over aspects of the case while other judges determine Trump’s presidential immunity claim.

However, Chutkan added that she’ll “ensure both a speedy trial and fairness to all parties” when she gets the case back.

Until the appeal is resolved, all pretrial proceedings are on hold. However, Chutkan has not relinquished all of her power, stating that the gag order on the former president and protective orders over discovery can still be enforced.
