Police Debunk Baseless Claim That Republican Supervisor Assaulted Democrat Town Council Member

-

The truth always comes out.

Irondequoit Town Council member Patrina Freeman, a Democrat, is facing questions over her accusation that Town Supervisor Rory Fitzpatrick, a Republican, broke her wrist at a town board meeting on September 20th.

A newly-released police report found no evidence to substantiate Freeman's claims and announced that “no further action” would be taken over the matter.

Freeman claimed that the September meeting went off the rails and ended with Fitzpatrick threatening her, storming out of the room, and breaking her wrist, according to The Daily Wire.

“Supervisor Rory Fitzpatrick got aggressive and angrily pushed his chair back from the table and walked in the direction of the door,” Freeman claimed at a press conference Tuesday, according to the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle. “Once behind where I was sitting, he threatened me by saying ‘be careful.'”

“Supervisor Fitzpatrick stormed out of the conference room with me right behind him as I was sitting nearest to the door,” the board member continued. “The supervisor got to the door first, opened the door forcefully, walked through, and then slammed the door on me, effectively hitting my hand and fracturing my wrist.”

“What happened to me that evening and the behavior that led to it is categorically unacceptable, especially coming from an elected official,” Freeman said.

On Tuesday, the police report's findings were made public and cast a shadow on Freeman's allegations.

“[Fitzpatrick] said he did not believe anyone was behind him at the time he left,” an investigator wrote in the report, according to the Democrat & Chronicle. “He denied slamming the door and was never made aware of any injuries that Patrina had allegedly sustained.”

The investigator also noted a discrepancy in Freeman's claims that the slammed door broke her wrist adding that the door “has a self-closing door hinge making it difficult to slam shut.”

No video cameras captured the door allegedly shutting on Freeman, and footage from the board meeting following the incident showed no indication the Democrat was injured, the police report said.

In a statement, Fitzpatrick denied the “baseless” allegations against him and pressed the council to focus on legitimate matters that concern citizens.

The Supervisor categorically denies Councilwoman Freeman's baseless accusation. Councilwoman Freeman filed a report with the Irondequoit Police Department, which conducted an investigation. After interviewing witnesses and reviewing video recordings, the Police Department determined that there was no evidence to substantiate the claim.

The Supervisor regrets that this baseless accusation is distracting from the important business of the Town, which includes finalizing the 2023 budget, allocating more than $20,000,000 in ARPA funds for Town projects, and responding directly to residents' concerns and inquiries.

Reports revealed Freeman has a pattern of leveling false accusations against others. In 2021 she sued the town for $1 million over alleged racial and gender discrimination.

  1. Why is the matter closed? If the council women filed a false police report that is the crime that was committed. She needs to be held accountable for the action. Like all Leftist cowards, they cannot win arguments/debates on the merits, so they result to character assasination and lies. Please city police commissioner, follow the law and charge Ms. Freeman with the crime she committed.

  2. He should sue the living sh*t out of her for malicious action and slander. She has to pay a big price for this bullsh*t.

Too bad she can’t be summarily removed by the Mayor.
