Conservative commentator Laura Loomer is now under police protection after receiving credible death threats laced with antisemitic hate. Officers have been posted outside her home 24/7 as the situation escalates.
Police say the suspect — Nicholas Ray of Spring, Texas — was charged in Florida for making violent threats online against Loomer and other Jewish conservatives, including New York Post columnist Karol Markowicz, Babylon Bee CEO Seth Dillon, and Newsweek editor-at-large Josh Hammer.
The messages included gruesome language about publicly hanging Loomer. Investigators deemed the threats credible after her home address was doxxed on social media.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced that Ray had been charged with 12 state offenses — four counts each of extortion, written threats to kill, and unlawful use of a communication device. Ray remains in custody in Texas, awaiting extradition to Florida.
According to the New York Post, Ray allegedly used the handle @zionistarescum to post hate-filled messages from Oct. 8–10:
The Oct. 18 affidavit claims Ray threatened to hang Loomer “from the capitol” and the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, DC, because she was a “Mossad Agent.”
He also wildly charged that Hammer had “conspired with foreign govt about killing Charlie” Kirk and used a racial slur before calling the Newsweek editor a “TRAITOR” who “SHOULD LITERALLY BE KILLED BY A FIRING SQUAD.”
“We’re gonna get you I promise maybe not today or tomorrow but you’re living on borrowed time and you know it,” Ray warned.
Dillon and Markowicz were accused of “conspiring with Israel” in the Sept. 10 assassination of Kirk and “genociding” in Gaza, respectively.
The case, built through cooperation between major tech companies and law enforcement agencies, highlights growing fears about politically motivated violence aimed at Jewish and pro-Israel figures. It has also sparked alarm online, where unfounded conspiracy theories linking Israel to Charlie Kirk’s death appear to be radicalizing vulnerable individuals inclined toward violence.
Loomer confirmed she requested police protection and is cooperating fully with investigators.
