According to new court documents, actor Alec Baldwin has been indicted a second time, stemming from the 2021 fatal shooting on the set of the Western movie “Rust.”
Baldwin is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter, according to CNN.
“We look forward to our day in court.” Baldwin's attorneys Luke Nikas and Alex Spiro told CNN in a statement on Friday.
Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed and director Joel Souza injured when a gun held by Baldwin fired a live round during a scene rehearsal on the set of the Western. (RELATED: New Mexico Grand Jury Set To Decide Alec Baldwin's Fate)
Last year, prosecutors dropped involuntary manslaughter charges against the actor saying in a statement at the time that they could not “proceed under the current time constraints and on the facts and evidence turned over by law enforcement in its existing form” due to “new facts” in the case. According to The Hill, the production team behind the movie announced in 2022 that it would resume filming following a settlement that Baldwin reached with Hutchins's family. Matthew Hutchins, Halyna Hutchins's husband, said that he would serve as an executive producer.
