Report: George Soros’s New York Estate ‘Swatted’

-

Over the weekend, liberal billionaire George Soros became the latest high-profile individual to be “swatted” around the holidays.

” is when someone makes a false report of a  in progress to draw police to a certain location.

According to The New York Post, authorities were called to Soros' Southampton Estate but quickly found out the call was a prank.

Southampton police said they received the 911 call shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, with the caller telling cops he had just shot his wife at the ritzy South Shore manse and was threatening to shoot himself — sending officers rushing to the scene.

The report turned out to be bogus, Southampton Police Detective Herman Lamison said Monday.

“Spoke to security, searched the premises. It was [a] negative problem,” one cop responding to the scene reported, according to a recording of police radio traffic obtained by The Post.

It is not clear if Soros or members of his family were home at the time of the incident.

Soros is only the latest to fall victim to the dangerous 911 prank calls.

On Christmas Day, authorities were called to the residence of popular MAGA firebrand Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA). The Congresswoman shared that it was the eighth swatting incident she has experienced since being elected. (RELATED: Marjorie Taylor Greene Swatted On Christmas Day: ‘The 8th Time')

Greene didn't divulge any further information, but police confirmed to NBC News that the Republican was subjected to a swatting attack:

Major Rodney Bailey of the police department in Rome, Georgia, told NBC News that a person based in Rome, New York, made a call to the suicide hotline, claiming that he had shot his girlfriend at Greene's address in Georgia and threatening to kill himself.

The Rome Police Department canceled their response, concluding the call was a hoax after speaking with Greene's local security liaison.

Similarly, Rep. Brandon Williams (R-NY) was also swatted on Christmas Day.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) announced on Dec. 28 that his home in Naples, , was swatted, calling it a “sick attempt to terrorize my family.”
