Law enforcement officials arrested music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs on Monday night following a grand jury indictment in Manhattan tied to a human trafficking investigation. The arrest comes months after authorities raided Combs’ homes.

Combs’ legal team responded to the charges, stating, “Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist… He is an imperfect person but he is not a criminal.” They also mentioned that Combs “voluntarily relocated to New York” in preparation for the charges.

The arrest follows a 2023 lawsuit filed by Combs’ ex-girlfriend, R&B singer Cassandra Ventura, who accused him of years of torment in a sex trafficking and abuse lawsuit. Although the lawsuit was privately settled one day later, it led to five additional civil suits alleging further sexual misconduct. Among the evidence is video showing Combs violently attacking Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles. The footage corroborates Ventura’s claim that Combs attacked her in the hallway at the hotel.

As Fox News reports:

Combs was arrested in the lobby of a New York hotel, a source confirmed to Fox News Digital.

“We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” Marc Agnifilo, Combs’ lawyer said in a statement provided to Fox News Digital.

United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York Damian Williams confirmed on X that a sealed indictment was filed and will be unsealed in the morning.

On March 25, the music mogul’s homes in Los Angeles and Miami were raided in connection to a federal human trafficking investigation, officials confirmed to Fox News Digital at the time.

“Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) New York executed law enforcement actions as part of an ongoing investigation, with assistance from HSI Los Angeles, HSI Miami, and our local law enforcement partners,” a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) confirmed at the time. “We will provide further information as it becomes available.”

In addition to the indictment, Combs faces the possibility of further legal action in multiple civil and one criminal lawsuit.
