Erika Kirk, widow of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, gave her first public address on Friday, just two days after her husband was assassinated at Utah Valley University during the kickoff event of his “American Comeback Tour.” Her words, filled with grief, resolve, and unwavering faith, moved thousands watching both in-person and online.
“Two days ago, my husband Charlie went to see the face of his Savior and his God,” Erika said, broadcasting from his podcast studio. “Charlie always said that when he was gone, he wanted to be remembered for his courage and for his faith.”
The 31-year-old conservative activist was fatally shot during a Q&A session on August 28 in what authorities have labeled a politically motivated assassination. The suspect, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, has been arrested and is now in federal custody.
“He Wore the Crown of a Martyr”
Erika Kirk described her husband as a man driven by two things: his love for America and his devotion to Jesus Christ.
“One of the final conversations that he had on this earth, my husband witnessed for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,” she said. “Now, and for all eternity, he will stand at his Savior’s side, wearing the glorious crown of a martyr.”
Her remarks blended personal loss with a call to spiritual action. She encouraged Americans — particularly young people — to deepen their faith and not shy away from spiritual truth.
“Our battle is not simply a political one. Above all, it is spiritual. The spiritual warfare is palpable,” she said, emphasizing the need for involvement in Bible-believing churches.
A Call to Action: “Join the Mission Charlie Died For”
With tearful resolve, Erika implored attendees to carry on Charlie’s mission — not just politically, but spiritually.
“Charlie loved his Savior with all of his heart, and he wanted every one of you to know Him too. If you confess the Lord Jesus Christ who rose from the dead, then you will be saved,” she said.
“Nobody is ever too young to know the gospel. Nobody is ever too young to get involved with saving this beautiful country — this country my husband loved and still loves.”
She ended her remarks by affirming her belief that her husband is still present in spirit: “I know my husband is still here. He’s watching over us.”
A Nation Mourns
Charlie Kirk is survived by Erika and their two young children. The late activist’s body was transported home to Phoenix, Arizona, aboard Air Force Two, accompanied by Vice President JD Vance, who led the military honor guard escorting the casket.
President Donald Trump, a close friend and political ally of Kirk, announced Thursday that he would posthumously award Charlie the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor.
Trump confirmed Friday that he will attend the funeral, scheduled for next week.
The investigation into potential accomplices or ideological motives is ongoing. Law enforcement officials have not ruled out the possibility of domestic terrorism charges.

I toally support this heroic lady and her strongly held statements. I am 80 yrs old, but Charlie Kirk was someone I looked up to in admiration! God has him now, and we must carry on.
