Senior Pastor of Friendship-West Baptist Church Freddie Haynes launched into a divisive tirade in his Sunday sermon following the assassination of commentator and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. Readers should note that Democratic Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett — who has also developed a reputation for incendiary remarks — attends this church.
He started the segment saying, “Get your theology together, because the sad thing is we live in a nation where twisted, toxic theology is poisoning the politics of this nation” without a hint of irony or self awareness about how his own “theology” could be accused of exactly what he was warning against.
He accused the killer of being a white Christian, despite no substantial evidence backing that claim, as the accused shooter was reported to be in a romantic relationship with a biological male.
“Have you thought about the fact that this week in Utah a white Christian got killed by a white Christian? And in the next the next day, HBCUs were under threat. How’d we get in it? Oh, that’s called white on white crime…I hope they warned you about me because on this Sunday we’re going to keep it one hunnid. On this Sunday, we’re going to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth,” he said before going onto repeat his baseless claim.
He then went on to assert that Kirk hadn’t been assassinated, insinuating that the definition of the word changed based on the victim.
“A white Christian gets killed, murdered — not assassinated. We’re gonna tell the whole truth today. Martin King got assassinated, Malcolm X got assassinated, Medgar X got assassinated. Don’t compare Kirk to King. Ain’t no such comparison now.”
He did, however, express bare minimum remorse over Kirk’s killing, and admitted that he should still be alive.
“Let me hasten to say I’m anti political violence. Kirk should still be alive. I don’t agree with anything Kirk said. What Kirk said was dangerous. What Kirk said was racist, rooted in white supremacy, nasty and hate-filled. But he still should be alive. He still should be playing with his kids. He still should be experiencing the love with his wife. He still should be experiencing life as he saw it.”
He then launched into a monologue about this history of political violence in America in which he embraced a one dimensional view of the nation’s past.
“Please hear me well: anybody to be victimized by political violence — but I’m (going to) keep it a buck. Because one of the thing that gets me — and we got some politicians in here. I’m (going to) tell you, I’m (going to) come for you if you ever say this. If you ever say, ‘America we better than this.’ You lying. We ain’t better than this. America was born in political violence.”
While his sermon was met with cheers and applause in the church, many online viewers found his point of view reductionist and relying on a flimsy comparison.
“America committed political violence during the slave trade. America committed political violence when black bodies hung as strange fruit on southern trees. America committed political violence against the Irish, against the Italians before they became white. America committed political violence when they passed Jim and Jane Crowe laws. What do you think political violence was?”
He continued, “Political violence when they bombed and massacred Black Wall Street, when they massacred Rosewood (?), when they massacred whites and blacks in Wilmington, North Carolina. What do you think political violence is? Martin being killed, that’s political violence. John Kennedy being killed — that’s political violence. Robert Kennedy being killed — political violence. And you going to say we better than this? This is a violent country that has done violence to too many people. We will never get our act together. It’s time to repent. We ain’t better than this but to get better, you’ve got to acknowledge what’s wrong.”

Shades of obama’s Rev. Wrong. “Americas chickens have come to roost”.
Crockett’s so-called “pastor” sounds like he’s just about as much of a Christian as Satan is. Only I suspect Satan is a lot better Christian than he’ll ever be. Satan at least has sense enough to believe in God and tremble. This idiot doesn’t even have sense enough to do that much.
HE SHOULD LOOSE HIS TAX EXEMPTION. THIS IS NOT A CHURCH, BUT IT IS POLITICAL SITE!
Would someone tell this deluded pastor that God the father, God the Son , and God the Holy Spirit, don’t see white Christians or black Christians or any color Christians, they just see people. God truly doesn’t look at a persons skin color to decide if or if not they are a Christian. Which begs me to have to want to ask the question of if is this man is a Christian or not, as a true believer in Christ should know this. But this man must be one of the bravest people I have ever seen since, according to the Bible, ever human that has ever lived will one day stand before the judgement seat of God. Since this man seems to think he has fooled the world on who he is I guess he thinks he can fool God too. I am not that brave to think I can fool God, even though I was deployed to the Middle East twice during the first decade of this century and faced the dangers inherent of being in a war zone, I am still not as brave as this man whom appears to be spreading nothing but false doctrine. To claim to be a Christian leader and then lead people astray puts a man in a truly dangerous position. I have heard to many true pastors talk about people like this pastor and how they feel the punishment for misleading people and preventing them from gaining salvation makes these so called pastors more accountable to God due to this false teaching. As a true Christian they are supposed to be following the example of the way Christ lived and acted while on this Earth. Christs main message for those that wanted to be His followers was first to surrender their lives to Him and admit that He is the son of God and that He died for their sins and then rose from the grave so they could have salvation. But his next commandment to them, immediately after that, was to love your neighbor as you love yourself. I hear nothing but vitriol coming from this man. His words or nothing but divisive. Unfortunately, I am hearing several other pastors delivering this same false doctrine by way of the mass media to include the internet. Anyone can call themself a Christian but their actions truly reveal if they are one or not. Charlie was most certainly a Christian. The trouble with these false Christians isn’t that Charlie spoke hate speech but it was just that THEY hated the things he said. Charlie, unlike these false pastors wanted all people to come to Christ. Just like Christ Charlie didn’t care what color people were. Charlie was more interested in pleasing God instead of man and it cost him his life. Jesus taught us while he lived on this Earth that if the world hated Him that it would hate his followers even more. Looks like Jesus, as He always is, was right.
He is nutty enough to believe that garbage and there are a lot of people brainwashed enough to believe it too.
Seijah, thanks for pointing this out. What a delusional, out of touch with reality person.
