Arizona Democratic Sen. Ruben Gallego is launching an effort to challenge a new Trump Administration immigration policy that could require many green card applicants to leave the United States and complete the process abroad.

According to a report from The Hill, Gallego is not only seeking to overturn the policy itself but is also pursuing a procedural strategy that could make it easier for Congress to reverse the change.

The dispute revolves around a recent U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy affecting how certain immigrants obtain lawful permanent residency.

Not the President’s Daily Brief, but almost as good – PAUL’S DAILY BRIEFING – the PDB:

HOMELAND SECURITY

Gate breached in incident at Joint Base San Antonio-Camp Bullis. Several “defensive” gunshots were fired by guards at the base after an individual drove a vehicle through a control point outside the base gate.

POLITICS

CHINA THREAT

KETTLE – BLACK – GASLIGHTING – China said the US is a disruptor of peace in response to Pentagon report on China’s military buildup. It said the U.S. is “biggest disruptor of regional peace and stability” in the world in a scathing response to a Pentagon report on China’s growing military buildup.

Chinese government removes defense minister missing for weeks. The Chicoms replaced Defense Minister Gen. Li Shangfu, who has been out of public view for almost two months. No additional info was given.

SPACE THREAT

UK lawmakers say ‘limited’, ‘modest’ Indo-Pacific presence not enough to address China threat. UK’s Defense Committee also called for greater support of Pacific nations and more clarity on the AUKUS submarine program.

US MILITARY

US Space Force’s 1st official painting shows military space plane intercepting adversary satellite. The “futuristic intercept vehicle” is based on historical space planes and the artist’s imagination.
