The White House released its long-awaited National Security Strategy on Wednesday, outlining plans for strengthening alliances worldwide while maintaining a strong American military “by promoting diversity and inclusion.”
America’s arsenal is in need of life support. The United States is set to face a raft of consequences if urgent measures are not taken to expand its production capacity for military munitions.
HOMELAND DEFENSE
Eyeing Russia and China, NORTHCOM head frets over US ability to respond to Arctic threats. The US military’s joint command for defending the homeland is not adequately postured to rapidly launch operations in the Arctic should it need to meet ever-increasing threats from Russia and China, according to the chief of Northern Command.
China, Russia quietly expanding Arctic partnership, says panel. China is subtly installing a larger presence in the Arctic through an extensive partnership with Russia in areas ranging from multi-use ports and airfields to energy extraction, Arctic security experts said Tuesday.
HOMELAND SECURITY
SO, NOW IT’S A CRISIS – New York calling for Air National Guard volunteers to help with migrant crisis. The State of New York is calling on its Air National Guard members for help as busloads of migrants continue to arrive in New York City daily.
CHINA THREAT
Rare protest against China’s Xi Jinping days before Communist Party congress. A rare protest against Chinese leader Xi Jinping and his policies was swiftly ended in Beijing Thursday, just days before he is set to secure a third term in power at a key meeting of the ruling Communist Party. Photos circulating on Twitter Thursday afternoon show two banners hung on an overpass of a major thoroughfare in the northwest of the Chinese capital, protesting against Xi’s unrelenting zero-Covid policy and authoritarian rule. “Say no to Covid test, yes to food. No to lockdown, yes to freedom. No to lies, yes to dignity. No to cultural revolution, yes to reform. No to great leader, yes to vote. Don’t be a slave, be a citizen,” reads one banner.
RUSSIA THREAT – UKRAINE WAR
US pushes patchwork air defense for Ukraine amid Russian blitz. Ukraine’s allies need to “chip in” to create a complex mix of air defenses as Russia bombards Ukraine’s cities and the civilians in them, America’s top military officer said Wednesday.
Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 232. Three-quarters of the 193-member General Assembly of the United Nations voted to condemn Russia’s “attempted illegal annexation” of four partially occupied regions in Ukraine and urged countries not to recognize the move.
Ukraine offensive will push through winter, US defense chief says. In the wake of Russia’s attacks on civilians, the U.S. defense secretary signaled that the arms supply to Kyiv would be open-ended.
DIFFERENT ARMAGEDDON – Russia’s new commander in Ukraine was decorated after brutality in Syria. Sergei Surovikin was called “General Armageddon” in Syria, and the recent merciless bombing in Ukraine recalls Russia’s approach in propping up Bashar al-Assad.

NORTH KOREA THREAT
TESTING BIDEN – North Korea says it tested two nuclear-capable cruise missiles. State media says the tests were supervised by leader Kim Jong Un who has made acquiring tactical nuclear weapons a priority.
IRAN THREAT
AFTER WASTING A YEAR APPEASING IRAN – US State Department says Iran nuclear deal ‘not our focus right now.’ The Iran nuclear deal is “not our focus right now,” US State Department spokesperson Ned Price said Wednesday, noting the administration was instead focusing on supporting the protesters in Iran as efforts to restore the nuclear deal have hit yet another impasse.
INTERNATIONAL SECURITY
Review of US-Saudi ties comes with calls for troop pullout. A decision by Saudi Arabia that indirectly will help Russia fund its war in Ukraine has the U.S. weighing whether to scale back ties with a Middle East ally that houses thousands of U.S. troops and buys more American arms than any other nation.
Navy wants 100 unmanned ships monitoring Middle East waters by next year. The United States and its allies want a force of 100 unmanned surface vessels patrolling waters from the Red Sea into the Persian Gulf by next summer, the commander of U.S. 5th Fleet said on Tuesday.
US cancels visas, sends Coast Guard ship to patrol waters off Haiti’s capital. The United States has sent a major Coast Guard vessel to patrol the waters near Port-au-Prince in a “sign of resolve” with the Haitian government as gang violence continues to grip the nation, and will impose new visa restrictions on Haitians involved in gang activity, the Biden administration said Wednesday.

US MILITARY
Freedom Caucus wants defense bill delayed if vaccine mandate not repealed. Members of the hard-line conservative House Freedom Caucus are calling on Republican leaders to delay passage of the annual defense authorization bill until after the new year if its demands, like repealing the military’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate, are not met.
As the Army pivots to battle peers, chemical, biological threats loom. For the first time since the beginning of the Iraq War, the threat of chemical, biological and nuclear attacks to military forces at home and abroad has triggered new thinking, new funding and a renewed focus on preparing troops from the Army.

Biden is doing his best to make this country ripe for a takeover by another country. He is destroying our military, along with destroying our country, and for some strange reason people in this country is allowing him( not really him but those handlers calling the shots) to get away with it. With the destruction the left has done to our country, there’s a very real possibility that in the not too distant future the United States of America will cease to exist. “Biden Wants Less Straight White Men in the Military” Well, does he want white men who are less straight (does that mean more queer – their word not mine?) or does he want fewer straight white men as a percentage? Less; fewer; the words matter.
All that said, back during the Vietnam war, the same bunch who think we have too many white soldiers were whining that blacks were being drafted and killed in numbers that would indicate they were cannon fodder for whites. Turns out that was not true. Casualties of all kinds in Vietnam reflected almost exactly the racial demographics of the country. Soldiers in the Infantry reflected almost exactly the racial demographics of the country. Now, with the volunteer Army,
I do not know the racial make-up of the Army is, but I would defer to GEN Creighton Abrams who allegedly, during a briefing at his headquarters in Saigon, was told that some large percentage of the chiefs of firing batteries in artillery units in the country were black. After filling the air with his characteristic cloud of cigar smoke he told the briefer that he had missed the mark. The general said he didn’t care what color they were, the real question was, “Can the shoot?” Bingo!
