ANALYSIS – Truth or dare? In the latest installment of American Civil War Chronicles 2.0, a well-known former Republican congressman-turned-Democrat TV pundit. is claiming that former President Donald Trump and his family are now “preparing for civil war” after the election.
Does this type of talk eventually turn into a self-fulfilling prophecy, or are Democrats gaslighting Republicans as they themselves prepare for yet another few years of subverting, undermining and sabotaging a lawfully elected Trump, under the guise of “resisting”?
As the New York Post recently reported: “MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough went on an epic rant Monday morning about the supposed threat of “civil war”; talking about the actual issues in this election, we guess, doesn’t help his ratings.”
“Or,” the outlet added, “maybe he thinks his team is losing on the merits.”
The Post continued:
Donald Trump and his family are “preparing for civil war,” Scarborough fumed, focusing on weekend speeches by the ex-prez and running-mate J.D. Vance — including one in which Trump had the nerve to note that his enemies have “slandered me, impeached me, indicted me, tried to throw me off the ballot. And who knows? Maybe even tried to kill me.”
The Daily Beast quoted Scarborough:
“The fact that JD Vance and Trump’s family would out and out say what they said takes the threat of violence… beyond where it was even leading up to January the sixth” in 2021, Scarborough said, referring to the Capitol riot. “This is an increasingly desperate person, an increasingly desperate family, who’s preparing for civil war. They just are. Talking about how they’re trying to kill him, Democrats are trying to kill him.”
Of course, all of Trump’s claims are true, but Democrats consider his noting these truths to be somehow preparing for civil conflict.
The Post continued:
It’s not just Scarborough pouring gas on the flames: President Biden himself hinted the same last week in discussing next month’s presidential election: “I don’t know whether it will be peaceful,” he warned.
Really? Does the nation’s highest leader truly want Democrats to prepare for an actual, physical war they pretend Republicans are planning? Could anything be more irresponsible?
We do see some MAGA Republicans use civil war references. For example, NY1 reported in July that:
Ohio State Sen. George Lang threatened “civil war” if former President Donald Trump loses in November at a rally in Ohio Sen. JD Vance’s hometown ahead of the Republican vice-presidential nominee’s remarks on Monday.
“I believe wholeheartedly Donald Trump and Butler County’s JD Vance are the last chance to save our country politically. I’m afraid if we lose this one, it’s going to take a civil war to save the country,” Lang said at the Middletown, Ohio, rally at Vance’s high school alma mater. “And it will be saved. It’s the greatest experiment in the history of mankind, and if we come down to a civil war, I’m glad we got people like… Bikers for Trump on our side.”
There are more GOP examples, which I will discuss in a future piece.
Still, Democrats are fanning the flames while ignoring the reality of who has been attacked.
The Guardian noted last month, after the second attempt on Trump’s life that, “Democrats talk about Trump as a threat to democracy, but he has been the target of violence…”
The outlet added:
Donald Trump blamed Democrats for the repeated attempts on his life. “Their rhetoric is causing me to be shot at, when I am the one who is going to save the country and they are the ones that are destroying the country – both from the inside and out,” he said.
Also on Monday, the former president released a list of quotes that the campaign described as incendiary. At the top of that list was a quote from Kamala Harris saying: “Trump is a threat to our democracy and fundamental freedoms.”
The election is seven weeks away. Though Democrats want to place the threat of a repeat of political violence such as the January 6 attacks at the center of their political argument, Trump… is a victim in this case – the target of a second apparent assassination attempt in less than two months.

Can we stop using the Radical Lefts’ verbage, and quit referring to January 6th as a “riot?” That is a belief manufactured thru repetition! The Democrats wanted it to be an “insurrection,” and they’ve hammered that idea into society’s reality!
Patriots peacefully protested a fixed election, while federal shills walked among them and encouraged uprising! Democrats manufactured violence, or the appearance of same in a convoluted plot to besmirch Republicans. Bringing American minds to this point of uncertainty was a choreographed effort to imbed an idea in society…the idea WE OURSELVES are keeping alive for them!
January 6th was a FEDsurrection…a drama conceived and implemented by those actors within, who thru media complicity has us parroting THEIR buzzwords!
We should think…then stop this subconscious assistance to the faction determined to dissolve the United States!
