Iran is moving to close the Strait of Hormuz amid a rapidly deteriorating ceasefire agreement that has reportedly led Tehran to suspend diplomatic communications with the United States. (RELATED: Iran Freezes Diplomatic Channels After Latest US Military Action)
Iranian officials are reportedly linking any reopening of the waterway to broader ceasefire and diplomatic demands.
The Hill continues:
Iran has accused the Trump administration of ceasefire violations and will move to close the Strait of Hormuz and stop exchanging messages with the U.S. through intermediaries, Iran’s state-affiliated outlet Tasnim News Agency reported Monday.
The report, translated from a post on the messaging app Telegram, pointed to Israel’s military operations in Lebanon against the Iranian-backed militia Hezbollah as a violation of the ceasefire with the U.S.
The report said an Israeli ceasefire in Lebanon is a precondition for the ceasefire between Iran and the U.S. and that the ceasefire “has now been violated on all fronts.”
Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi posted on X that Lebanon is included in the ceasefire with the U.S. and any violation on one front “shall be considered a violation of it across all fronts.
The Strait of Hormuz remains the world’s most important energy chokepoint, with roughly one-fifth of global petroleum liquids and liquefied natural gas shipments passing through the narrow corridor under normal conditions.
Connecting the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman, the waterway plays a critical role in global energy markets, international shipping, and economic stability.
If the closure persists into mid-June and beyond, economists warn the consequences could include higher oil prices, rising gasoline costs, renewed inflationary pressure, and significant disruptions to global shipping networks.

Well, all they have been doing is playing for time so they could gather what’s left of their military on the west coast. Now they are ready for war again in the last ditch Kamikaze assault on our Navy operating there. I think we all knew this would never be over until the last of the Islamic caliphate was turned to dust and all the remaining Muslim Invaders of the Persian Empire were dead and gone. The only way that happens is if the Persians rise up and kill the Islamic horde that invaded their Country in 1979. Those Persians must somehow be armed by the world so they can rid themselves of the Islamic cancer.. The remnants of the Caliphate’s military must destroyed by a united world force, hopefully not just the USA, and with an armed Persian population this long war will finally terminate. Just the thoughts of a regular American that has been watching these savages kill us since 1979.
Just bomb the crap out of Iran already, President Trump!!!! I am a staunch supporter of President Trump, but this is getting to be too much. Iran will never comply with any kind of agreement.
Gee, who else saw that coming? They played for time and collected up what’s left of their military after the first few weeks of attacks and now they are proving that they are stupid enough to commence the war again.
I guess it’s time to “smoke ’em to oblivion” and let allah figure out who’s coming to see him and the goats.
