ANALYSIS – Most conservatives and even some liberal free speech advocates applauded Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter, a Big Tech hotbed of leftist narratives and anti-conservative censorship.
Many leftists, outraged that they could no longer simply cancel opposing conservative views, squealed and threatened to leave Twitter.
Of course, they made their threats on Twitter, then waited on Twitter to see the reactions on Twitter.
However, since his tumultuous takeover, Musk has worried some supporters by apparently quickly engaging in the same capricious censorship he so strongly decried.
Going after critics, including the college kid who tracks his plane using publicly available open-source information.
Most recently Musk put his Twitter CEO-ship on the line by asking Twitter users to vote online about whether he should remain ‘Chief Twit.’
Not surprisingly, considering residual leftism left at Twitter, Musk lost that poll and may soon step down and appoint someone else to run the Twitter show.
Still, despite the turmoil and concerns brought on by Musk’s Twitter takeover, many see this dramatic move as an even more dramatic shift in the media ecosphere.
A momentous move to the right and against the dominant liberal media megaphone.
Axios writes: “Elon Musk and allies are building a new anti-left media ecosystem almost overnight.”

Why it matters: It’s as if the New York Times editorial page suddenly flipped to the right.
With the reins in Musk’s hands, the right is gaining power in online spaces the left once dominated, Axios’ Erica Pandey reports.
Axios adds: “Look who’s driving the news on Twitter…”
And notes:
Anti-mainstream-media journalists — like Bari Weiss and Matt Taibbi — are driving the narrative, getting the clicks and earning new followers on Musk’s Twitter. They’re thriving in an environment where alternative, anti-left and anti-establishment media has taken center stage.
To the folks at Axios, “Musk’s moves at Twitter are part of a larger — growing — anti-left, alternative media ecosystem.”
To buttress their case, they point to Joe Rogan’s populist podcast, which has a heavily conservative fan base and was the most listened-to show of the second half of 2022, according to Edison Research.
Not to be outdone, Axios notes, Ben Shapiro’s more intellectual conservative podcast is now No. 7 — and rising.
As a conservative, I can only hope this is the beginning of a major shift from the leftist-dominated media landscape to a far more balanced one where conservative points of view are given the respect they deserve.
Let’s see where this all leads as we head into the 2024 election.

Why does it have to be either/or? What is it about Twitter users and especially the supposedly “liberal” people that work there that makes them think there should not be a free exchange of ideas without one side telling the other what is permitted or not? I think for one thing, the “liberal” label is all wrong. These guys that worked at Twitter and many still do, are not really liberals or libertarians, but illiberal, biased, racist, fanatics, that have long since left their liberal roots behind for all out right wing hysteria like they are always railing against. They believe in tyrants in charge and experts telling everybody what to do. Their clamoring for science and then spending most of their time emoting, is classic Marxism. Their redefinition of every word in the English language to prove their points is a dead give away. Their inability to understand comedy, make fun of themselves and let others laugh at whatever they want is another way they show they are very “intolerant”, not tolerant and liberal as they keep deluding themselves into believing. They are political schizophrenics. Freud is the guy these people need the most, not Marx.
As for Musk’s ridiculous poll, certainly, he is not going to let the inmates take over the asylum again, is he? Biden would do something like that. He wouldn’t take a poll but he most certainly would let the inmates out of their cages.
Musk needs to stay in control until Twitter is the public square that he intended! How can anyone trust him if he just gives up because the animals in the zoo want him to? Twitter should have always been uncensored and should be from here on out. What business is it of these guys to tell you or I what we should or should not think, do, or say? We have laws (too many by the way) to hold people accountable for what they do and say already. They should be sufficient and a rabble of group think, woke, mob rule, internet vigilantes, is about the only thing that should not be allowed on Twitter. Musk giving the reigns back to those who were complicit in the shenanigans that made Twitter the treasonous, state sponsored, information ghetto that it was makes no sense.
He has learned from the master—Trump—on how to create even more buzz for Twitter followers! Give him cred for doing so!
It doesn’t bother me in the least that Elon would change his mind and censor some left-wing dorks. They can scream bloody murder for all I care. They live in a fantastical, unreal universe, and I don’t really care to listen to any of their illogical and insane blather anyway.
After all, turn about is fair play. And besides, he probably ain’t banning anywhere near as many of them as the amount of conservatives that they banned while in control of Twitter.
