The United States will not be moving its military presence from the Western Pacific any time soon due to Beijing's “continued bad behavior” toward Taiwan and its bullying of immediate neighbors like Japan and South China Sea nations, the Marine Corps second in command said on Monday.

China announces military exercise near disputed islands in South China Sea. The Chinese military has announced a five-day exercise in the South China Sea in an area that overlaps a chain of disputed islands the U.S. Navy patrolled last week.
RUSSIA THREAT
US Himars help to hold off Russian advance, Ukraine says. U.S.-supplied long-range artillery has helped stabilize the front line with Russia in the east of the country, the commander-in-chief of Ukraine's armed forces said, as his troops geared up for a counteroffensive to retake territory in the south.
Russia-Ukraine war: List of key events, day 147. Russia's offensive in Ukraine's Donbas region continues to make minimal gains as Ukrainian forces hold the line, British military intelligence said. Russia is laying the groundwork for the annexation of Ukrainian territory, using the same tactics as it did in Crimea in 2014, according to the White House.

Russia says peace in Ukraine will be on its terms, strikes multiple targets. A senior Russian security official said on Tuesday that peace in Ukraine when it came would be on Moscow's terms as Russian forces struck targets across the country with missiles even as their ground offensive stuttered.
NORTH KOREA THREAT
Exercise puts American troops under South Korean command for first time. Hundreds of U.S. soldiers are under the South Korean army's operational control for the first time during a brigade-level training exercise in the mountainous northeastern province of Gangwon.
South Korea records successful maiden flight test of its KF-21 fighter jet. Korea Aerospace Industries and the country's Air Force on Tuesday confirmed the first successful test flight of Seoul's indigenous 4.5th-generation fighter jet, the KF-21 “Boramae.”
INTERNATIONAL SECURITY
Iran's Khamenei warns Erdogan against Syria military operation. Turkish president met Iran's Supreme Leader Khamenei and President Raisi in advance of a trilateral summit with Russian President Putin, with Ukraine and Syria on the agenda.
US MILITARY AND SPACE
After 246 years, Marines set for their first Black four-star general. Lt. Gen. Michael E. Langley, whose confirmation hearing is scheduled for Thursday, has been tapped to lead the U.S. forces in Africa.
New aerial defense system helps Marines blast simulated cruise missiles. The system would protect far-flung Marines as they strike enemy ships with missiles.

Give Ukraine the means to blow away all the Russian troops and equipment that are both inside their country and those assembled along the border. Putin may be crazy but even with that he’s not stupid. Does he believe that the west would not respond if he uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine? He knows full well that if he used nukes his own country would suffer the same fate.He’s finding out, and the world is seeing, that the Russian troops and weapons are not as formidable as they thought they were. With the right weapons Ukraine can drive Russia out of their country.
