‘I’m Working 3 Jobs.’ Latino Voters Get Real Telling CNN Why They Prefer Trump

In a televised segment, Hispanic voters in Georgia told CNN's that their financial situation was better during the Trump years.

These days, stubbornly high prices are the norm at your local grocery store and paychecks fail to keep up with .

Speaking to Marquez, Hispanic Americans shared their daily struggles, reminding this viewer of Ronald Reagan's rhetorical question that doomed Jimmy Carter's reelection bid: “Are you better off today than you were four years ago?”

For Gabriela Martinez, the answer seems to be a resounding no: “Right now [I'm] working three jobs because I have to pay more things, like my house is more expensive.”

“I didn't see any significant changes,” she added, alluding to her disappointment with President Biden's first term. “I was expecting something.”

According to CNN's Marquez, Martinez's viewpoint was not uncommon: “Much of the labor here [are] Latino immigrants living paycheck to paycheck. Many now view the Trump years as better for their bottom line.”

A recent poll conducted by CNN and research firm SSRS shows Biden with a 4-point lead among Hispanic voters over former President Trump.

The RealClearPolitics polling average has Trump leading Biden by 1.3-points in a 2024 matchup.
