AOC Gets Unwelcome Surprise in Poorly Attended Town Hall Event

-

Democrat Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez struggled to get her footing during a town hall event on Wednesday.

The progressive representative has quickly become one of the most polarizing figures in since being elected in 2019. Some have speculated that the New Yorker is gearing up to run for president in the near future while others say her radical policy ideas are nothing short of disastrous and she could never succeed in a nationwide race.

During the event, which was poorly attended, two attendees confronted AOC for allegedly supporting and posted a video to Twitter shortly after.

“My friend @Noggatone and I confronted Congresswoman [AOC] on her support for Nuclear War and Ukrainian Nazis,” Jose Vega captioned his interaction with the congresswoman.

“I call her out for being a coward in the face of the party that will push us all into Nuclear war right now,” he added. “Will she stand up like [Tulsi Gabbard] and fight for peace?”

On Tuesday, Gabbard a former Democrat congresswoman, Vice Chair of the Democratic National Committee, and Democrat candidate for president publicly renounced her affiliation with the party.

The flustered Democrat couldn't seem to respond to the attendees' barrage of questions and insults and criticized them for being “rude” and said she would respond to their questions last. However, the video does not show the Congresswoman addressing their concerns.

“Tulsi Gabbard, she's left the Democratic Party because they are war hawks,” one protester told AOC. “You ran as an outsider! Yet, you've been voting to start this war in .”

“Why are you playing with the lives of American citizens?” he pressed. “You're playing with our lives!”

“You voted to mobilize and send money to Ukrainian Nazis,” Vega yelled. “You're a coward!”

“You are being rude!” AOC scolded at another point, adding, “of course I'm against it,” seemingly referring to nuclear war.

Vega addressed the confrontation with Timcast and insisted he is neither Left nor Right-wing and the issue transcends political parties.

“Congress is in recess for the next month until after the elections,” he said. “Everyone should find their representative and tell them that there's only one thing on the table — and it's nuclear war. People need to stand up no matter what they believe and speak out against the war mobilization.”

Throughout the event, AOC was also confronted on her stance on immigration.
