Former United Nations ambassador and South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley announced she is taking legal action against New York Attorney General Letitia James over a 2019 donor leak that reportedly showed a stamp from the Democratic prosecutor's office.

Haley shared the news during an appearance on Fox News's “Jesse Watters Prime Time” on Monday.

“Any time there's a conservative group that hits a nerve with the liberal side of things, they go after them, and we're saying, ‘No more,'” Haley said. “Conservatives have complained and whined for too long. I have said on your radio show multiple times, Republicans are too nice. No more, no more. We're going to fight back. We're going to fight back hard. And I hope everybody that's watching right now will join [Stand For America] and fight back with us.”

Haley's nonprofit policy advocacy group, Stand For America, Inc. has reportedly received major donations from politically-connected figures as she lays out the groundwork for a possible 2024 presidential campaign. The former Trump administration official also set up a Super PAC under the same name in 2021.

Last week, POLITICO reported that the government watchdog group Documented obtained an unredacted copy of Stand For America's 2019 filings, which it then shared with the publication. While the group did not share the original source of the filing, it is important to note the filing included the stamp from the charity office of the New York state attorney general.

POLITICO reports:

The roster of supporters who gave undisclosed donations in 2019 also includes Suzanne Youngkin, the wife of Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin, himself a possible presidential contender; former Senate candidate and hedge fund executive David McCormick; and Vivek and Lakshmi Garipalli, members of a family that has donated large sums to Democrats — but which gave Haley's organization $1 million.

“It's very rare that the public has the opportunity to see the identities of the who are providing five- or even six-figure contributions to a dark money group. It's called dark money for a reason. Typically, the public does not know who is financing these groups, and this is a rare exception,” said Brendan Fischer, deputy executive director of Documented.

“This previously unpublished donor list provides a valuable clue as to the network of wealthy donors that Haley might rely upon if she does ultimately run for office,” Fischer said.

While nonprofits such as Stand for America are required to file an annual tax return with the IRS and those filings must be made available to the public the nonprofit is not required to disclose the identity of donors.

According to POLITICO, Haley's attorney Michael Adams served a cease-and-desist letter to the publication in hopes of preventing the list's publication. However, POLITICO's legal representation responded that the list “is in the public interest and fully protected by the First Amendment to the United States Constitution.”

“This disclosure of a confidential tax return was clearly a corrupt violation of state and federal law to try to intimidate conservative donors,” Haley said in a statement. “Liberals have always weaponized government against conservatives, and Republicans have been too nice for too long. We will make sure the buck stops here.”

  1. I hope they can beat her down until nobody will hire her for anything but a job a McDonalds. This James a hole is nothing but a power whore and fights dirty at every opportunity. If her office had some kind of access to this list and they let Politico have it when it was supposed to be confidential, what is that? Is that legal, is it a lot like the leaked SCOTUS opinion on Roe? These democrats are getting away with doing anything they want. Time to take out the trash and I hope she is successful in smiting this partisan hack woman. I hope the State of New York is smarter than to elect her as governor. I personally don’t think they are, but there is always a first time for the suspension of stupid in what is otherwise a very stupid state.
PS I hope Abbott sends thousands more illegal aliens their way so that they know what their Emperor Biden is really up to.

    • It is about time, or maybe a little past time for republicans to wake up and do something for the AMERICAN People. they have been crying like babies and doing nothing
