The incoming Republican chair of the House Intelligence Committee doesn’t seem as keen to pursue an investigation into the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop. That’s according to a new report from the Daily Beast and a Sunday appearance by Rep. Mike Turner, R-Ohio.
Turner will lead the Intel Committee once the 118th Congress begins.
Unlike GOP leaders on the House Judiciary and Oversight committees, who want to make Hunter Biden’s business dealings a top priority, Turner seemed to show reluctance when asked about the younger Biden by ABC News anchor Martha Raddatz.
The Daily Beast has more:
“In the 118th Congress, this committee will evaluate the status of Joe Biden’s relationship with his family’s foreign partners and whether he is a President who is compromised or swayed by foreign dollars and influence,” Rep. James Comer (R-KY), the incoming chair of the Oversight Committee, said last week. “I want to be clear: This is an investigation of Joe Biden, and that’s where the committee will focus in this next Congress.”
In response to Raddatz asking Turner if he considered Hunter Biden’s laptop a matter for the Intelligence Committee, the Ohio Republican said this:
He went on to say that “there certainly are issues with respect to Hunter Biden’s laptop that are going to have to be looked at,” only for Raddatz to interject.
“Impeachment issues, you believe?” she wondered, prompting Turner to clarify that he didn’t want to focus on impeachment in his committee.
“The impeachment issue was Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi. And where our committee was taken off the rails,” he added, referencing the efforts at impeaching former President Donald Trump.

Turner is a go along to get along creep who most likely gets money back from Ukraine. Years ago, on the Tom Snyder show, the head of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) Union bragged Bureaucrats run the Government. He explained administrations changed every 2 to 4 years BUT Bureaucrats were ALWAYS there, year after year after year. He explained they all flew up like Pigeons every couple of years and usually landed in the same spot they were in or a spot or two down if their spot was filled. But, they’re always there, year after year after year. “We Bureaucrats run the government”, he bragged.
