According to The New York Times, the Jan. 6 select committee is planning to vote to subpoena former President Donald Trump, its most aggressive move against the former commander-in-chief thus far.
A protracted legal battle is expected if the panel does summon Trump to testify under oath.

WASHINGTON — The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol plans to issue a subpoena to former President Donald J. Trump to question him about his role in events that led to the violence that consumed Congress, according to a person familiar with its work, a remarkable escalation as the panel begins wrapping up its inquiry.
Representative Bennie Thompson, Democrat of Mississippi and the chairman of the committee, foreshadowed the move at the beginning of its hearing on Thursday — possibly the panel’s final public session — saying that lawmakers could vote on “further investigative action” during the meeting. The person who divulged that the action would include a subpoena did so on the condition of anonymity, because they were not authorized to speak about it publicly in advance. The plan was reported earlier by NBC News.
It emerged as the committee presented a sweeping summation of its case against Mr. Trump, including more details about his state of mind and his central role in the effort to overturn the 2020 election.
The panel revealed evidence today alleging that Tom Fitton, an informal advisor to Trump and the president of Judicial Watch, urged Trump in an Oct. 31 email to declare himself the victor based on Election Day returns and reportedly not acknowledge lawfully cast mail-in and absentee ballots.
As the latest Jan. 6 committee hearing unfolds, it’s also being reported that the Supreme Court has denied Trump’s emergency request that a special master review more than 100 documents marked as classified that were seized by FBI agents in August.
There were no noted dissents.

Most people know this “investigation” has no interest in the facts. It is entirely a show trial for political purposes. What amazes me is how the Dems can keep Americans locked up in a political prison without massive GOP pushback. There should be at least continuous legal action to gain their release. If any cause justifies a riot, locking up political prisoners merely for their personal beliefs is it.
Just give it up already !! We have very serious issues and problems in this country that need attention. And another attempt at getting Trump is not one of those problems. We are so over it….

This Jan 6 committee is the biggest farce I’ve ever seen. Its members are kowtowing to Liz Cheney and supporting her agenda to try to bring down Trump which will never happen. If they had any self respect they would walk off.

What a strange coincidence that the panel of Democrats and two RINO’s would make such a decision as to subpoena Donald Trump just weeks before the midterm elections when the Democrats are in extreme danger of losing their strangle hold on our Republic. This is the ultimate DISGRACE and creates a power grab that could very easily spell the death knell of our Republic. The American people need to vote these bums out of office and get control of our future or we have no future, this is the exact scenario playing as I have seen it from the start of their rotten plans. We have a Demented fool in the WH that these clowns put there by pulling the wool over the eyes of the people it is time for We the People to vote them out.
This show trial rambles on. From the outset this has reminded me of the Nazi and Communist show trials conducted under Hitler and Stalin. To call this committee select is a gross misuse of the word. Democrats will try anything to prevent Trump from running again.
If Congress truly wants to investigate illicit activities they should begin with both Clintons, Obama, Biden and the allegations of Attorneys General Eric Holder and Merrick Garland.
