Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent acknowledged Wednesday that he threatened to “kick ass” during a heated confrontation last year, while firmly denying reports that he threatened to punch the now-acting Director of National Intelligence “in the face.”

The unusual exchange emerged during a Senate Finance Committee hearing, where Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) pressed Bessent about reports surrounding a confrontation between the two Trump administration officials during the summer of 2025.

According to Bessent, one key detail in the widely circulated account was inaccurate.

While he denied threatening.

A judge has blocked three state laws that would ban virtually all abortions in Louisiana.

As a result, elective abortions remain legal in Pelican State. For the time being, at least. (RELATED: Will the Army Help Parents Kill Their Unborn Babies?)

Fox News reports:

Orleans Parish Civil District Court Judge Robin Giarrusso issued the temporary block shortly after abortion providers in the state filed a lawsuit, according to the order.

Abortion groups, represented by the Center for Reproductive Rights, argue the abortion restrictions violate providers’ due process rights and “lack constitutionally required safeguards to prevent arbitrary enforcement.”

The groups also argue that the laws are overly vague, as they do not include a specific start date beyond the end of Roe.

The bans, commonly known as “trigger laws,” were set to take effect if the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. The court’s ruling, announced Friday, allows state governments to regulate and limit abortions as they see fit. (RELATED: Violence Targeting Pro-Life Movement & Pregnancy Centers on the Rise)

Giarrusso has scheduled a July 8 hearing for the lawsuit.

Louisiana’s trigger laws would prohibit abortions in all cases except when the mother faces death or serious injury. The laws include no exceptions for rape or incest.

Besides Louisiana, 12 other states have passed similar laws: Arkansas, Idaho, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Wyoming.

The midterms are almost here sire, then you and your oath breakers are properly fxxxed. Biden thinks he has been elected king, WTF, when the impeachment hearing start, lets see just how much king biden has to have say about his corruption. America has never elected kings, the oath of office taken is to protect and serve, we do not have kings anointed in this country and never will, hope the democrats understand that, midterms to prove that point.

      Dinny

Well said and can’t wait until the midterms for the left to go packing.

Guess it will now go to each states courts. Oh well.

Now the battle really begins. Each state legislature needs to pas NEW laws concerning what that state will do about abortion. And then fight off the hippy dippy Leftist night court judges trying to block any restrictions on this Evil act of infanticide.

Why are 70+ yr old women protesting abortion?
If all the people supporting long term abortion had to feel the same pain as the baby, how long would that support last?

That judge needs to respect the SCOTUS ruling and let Louisiana’s pro-life laws go into effect. Roe is no longer the precedent.

    Sunshine Kid

File charges against the judge for promoting murder. After all, the developing child is not the woman’s body, in that it has its own DNA. It is not a tumor or cancer, and actually poses little risk to the mother. If the mother is unwilling or unable to care for her child, then there are alternatives such as adoption. Taking a human life is murder, and calling it by another name changes no fact.

“Abortion groups, represented by the Center for Reproductive Rights, argue the abortion restrictions violate providers’ due process rights and “lack constitutionally required safeguards to prevent arbitrary enforcement.””

Well, that wording makes it clear, if anyone ever had a doubt before: abortion was never legalized to advance women’s rights. It was legalized so that those who prey on women could do so without fear of legal consequences.

The Supreme Court just handed the issue of abortion back to the states. They have reaffirmed that the states have the right and responsibility to protect women from unscrupulous abortionists.

Those who are pro-abortion and do not like the current situation in which the voices of the citizens are being heard on the matter should consider this: they claimed for decades that abortion is a hard decision, that it’s a last-resort, etc., while those who are pro-life observed that the majority of abortions were for the purpose of birth control. Perhaps if those who call themselves “pro-choice” would have acknowledged the fact that abortion was used primarily as a form of birth control and worked with the pro-life community to minimize birth control abortion, we would not have this situation now.
