A U.S. federal judge has ordered the release of Prince Harry’s U.S. visa application records by Tuesday, following a legal challenge by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank. The organization sought these records after Prince Harry disclosed past drug use in his 2023 memoir, raising questions about his visa approval process.
Initially, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) resisted releasing the documents, citing privacy concerns. However, under the Trump administration, DHS has agreed to provide redacted versions of the records, complying with Judge Carl Nichols’ ruling.
NBC News reports:
Drug use itself isn’t a disqualifying factor for a visa, but lying about it could be a greater challenge. In theory, if the younger brother of future U.K. king Prince William didn’t disclose drug use on his visa application, that could be grounds to have him removed.
In his 2023 memoir “Spare,” Harry admitted to using cocaine, among other drugs.
“Of course I had been taking cocaine at that time. At someone’s house, during a hunting weekend, I was offered a line, and since then I had consumed some more,” he wrote in a Spanish language version of his book.

The federal government has fought efforts to air Harry’s paperwork, saying the “request does not meet the public interest standard set forth” in FOIA guidelines, according to defense lawyers.
However, U.S. immigration law can deem applicants inadmissible for admitting to controlled substance violations, though waivers are sometimes granted.
The release of these records could have implications for Prince Harry’s immigration status, depending on their content and any discrepancies found.

King Charles inquired “is it not true that if foreigners commit criminal acts in the United States on previous visits, will it not will result in later Visa applications being denied?
“If the Americas answer is yes then I would like my Son Harry returned to the UK ….but you can keep his wife, she hates it here and likes it there”
