Report: Biden Admin Approves Troop Deployment To Border As Title 42 End Approaches

-

As a -era border rule is set to expire, the Biden administration is scrambling to enact meaningful deterrence measures that will keep our border safe.

Senior officials have informed Fox News that has approved sending 1,500 active-duty U.S. troops to the southern border amid concerns that thousands of migrants will surge into the country once Title 42 is lifted.

The U.S. soldiers would come from a variety of active duty Army units and would serve in mostly administrative and transport roles to free up and Border Patrol, according to two senior U.S. officials familiar with the deliberations.

Officials said the troop deployment would be similar to deployments to the border ordered by former President Donald Trump. The troops would be armed for but would not assist with law enforcement.

According to reports from The New York Post, the similarly deployed more than 5,000 active-duty troops to the southern border in October 2018 to counter a caravan of at least 3,500 Central American migrants traveling north.

Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) statistics show that only about 46% of migrant encounters at the border resulted in a Title 42 expulsion.

In preparation for the end of Title 42, the has developed a new asylum rule that will bar migrants from being eligible to claim asylum if they have crossed into the U.S. illegally, have not scheduled an appointment via the CBP One app, and have not claimed asylum in a country through which they previously passed.

  1. Gee, How about enforcing our borders FIRST? Utter lunacy. Everything this clown and his ilk do is ‘basackwards’.

  2. It is clear that this is only for “optics.” Biden could not care less about the millions of foreigners streaming into the USA nor the burden that it places on Americans.

  3. move the border south of Panama, problem solved with illegal insurgents and will be able to declare war on the drug cartels.

  4. The difference between what Trump proposed and what Biden is considering is that things never would have gotten to a crisis point under Trump.

Now that the underfunded border patrol is under siege and the optics are poor, a military effort is a worthwhile solution for this hapless administration.

  5. How about sending a couple divisions to our border to keep all illegals out of our country. We do not need anymore illegals. Would someone tell that to our senile president.

  6. OK folks, Title 42 is obviously going away in a few days. My first obvservation upon learning of the plan to send US military to the boarder (now) in preparation for a surge, as we were told, was; “yeah, why now, why not before?”. There have been surge after surge for a couple of years. And, by the way, “no positive Federal response to that”. So, without first discovering a hypothesis that was offered by a local radio host, I concluded that these military resources being sent, are not combat troops at all. These are logistical personnel expected to “facilitate” more illegal immitration, So, there is no blow up that would cast egg on the face of the administration. More poor handling of a very bad thing. I think it will blow up anyway.
    Just my thinking.

  7. Fine. Now for the $64,000 question: if our troops are fired upon, are they allowed to RETURN FIRE? Or will the weenies-in-command charge them with murder for killing ‘the poor innocent members of the cartel?’ We have seen the same scenario devolve before in foreign lands.
