Senate Passes $1.7T Omnibus Spending Bill

-

The Senate passed the $1.7 trillion omnibus spending package coming one step closer to averting a .

Senators voted 68-29 on Thursday to approve the 4,155-page bill which provides with $45 billion in military and economic aid.

The Electoral Count Reform Act, a bipartisan bill designed to make it more difficult to overturn a presidential election, made it into the final legislation, as did Sen. Josh Hawley's (R-MO) measure banning the use of TikTok on government devices, according to The Washington Examiner.

In their effort to secure at least 10 Republican votes to avoid a filibuster, were forced to abandon a number of priorities, including an expansion of the child tax credit, emergency coronavirus aid, and a proposal that would give Afghan refugees a pathway to permanent legal status in the , among other initiatives.

The wrapped up the final item on its to-do list as a major snowstorm threatened to affect flight plans for members of Congress as they prepare to depart for the holidays. Leadership had hoped to pass the bill as early as Wednesday night, but negotiations on amendments were derailed after Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) introduced an amendment on Title 42 that Democrats considered a “poison pill.” To counter the amendment and draw away centrist support, Democrats put forward a competing border amendment to provide political cover for a “no” vote on Lee's provision.

In total, the omnibus's passage was preceded by a vote on roughly a dozen amendments, many from conservative senators that were agreed to to help fast-track the bill. A late addition was the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, which protects pregnant women from discrimination in the workplace.

The vote comes after House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy announced on Wednesday his plans to actively campaign against the bill.

  1. The United States of America has Fallen. It fell when the Democrats were voting it and turned our country into a communist pit. They have destroyed everything from police to our Declaration of Independence. They have destroyed our laws and made a laughing joke out of our Army and our White House. This country is gone. There is nothing left but corruption and crooked works.

  2. Absolutely Un-American. Again we have to pass the bill so we can see what’s inside. BS!!!! A bill with a name should only include what it is titled to cover.

  3. I am finished with the “former Republican Party” because they dont care about their constituents, and only care about greed, and power.Adios McConnell, you closet communist bastar-. I will give only to true Republicans, not RINOs.

  4. All of the Republican Senators that voted for this bill should be kicked out of the Republican Party. It’s time Republicans stood for what they claim they stand for and fight for their views.

  5. Did you ever notice the crap eating smock Chucky has when he screws over the tax payers. Don’t you wish you could afford pork for Christmas. That is right we are paying for it.

  6. “No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.”

Only government employees, recipients of their stolen handouts, and the duped want this corrupt government to continue operating.

“This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men [for the punishment of the wicked].” (Daniel 4:17)

“The best of them is as a brier: the most upright is sharper than a thorn hedge….” (Micah 7:4)

This thanks to Article 6’s Christian test ban whereby mandatory biblical qualifications for civil leaders were also eliminated.

And yet every two and four years alleged (duped) Christians and patriots will line up to elect the next briar or thorn hedge!

The best you can ever get from the Constitutional Republic’s unbiblical election system is the lesser of two evils. Sometimes, the worst of the worst. And always, the evil of two lessers. In other words, its a rigged craps game.
