Trump Calls Epstein Drama A ‘Hoax,’ Blasts ‘Past Supporters’ For Buying The ‘Bull—’

Speaking plainly on Truth Social Wednesday, President Donald Trump called the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein controversy a Democratic “hoax,” mocking MAGA voters who sought the release of Epstein-related documents as “past supporters” who bought into the “bullsh*t” narrative. He emphasized his administration has bigger priorities.

A July 7 memo from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI rejected the existence of an Epstein “client list” and reaffirmed the official ruling that the sex-trafficking financier died by suicide, a conclusion that outraged wide swaths of the MAGA base.

Prominent conservative allies — including Laura Loomer, Michael Flynn, and Dan Bongino — demanded greater clarity, with Loomer urging Bondi’s resignation.

Nevertheless, Trump has called on MAGA supporters to drop calls for complete transparency and criticized those still focused on the files as “weaklings,” “stupid people,” and detractors.

Trump called the scandal “boring,” urging focus instead on 2020 election integrity and broader agenda items.

Trump’s reversal — initially supporting transparency but now calling it a hoax — has intensified divisions within the MAGA movement. Some conservative influencers feel betrayed, while some establishment Republicans, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, continue to push for full disclosure.

The blunt dismissal of the so-called Epstein file as a hoax points to a broader strategy to close the book on a narrative that Trump once wielded with political success. But as long as MAGA factions demand transparency — and with some influencers resisting calls to drop the story — the controversy is far from settled. Whether Trump can regain control of the narrative — or if this becomes a lasting liability — remains to be seen.
