Trump Calls for Impeaching McConnell on Live Television

-

In an appearance on Real America's Voice, former President told host John Fredericks that Republicans should impeach Minority Leader , R-Ky.

Trump's ding at the Kentucky Republican comes days before the GOP is expected to win control of the House and possibly the Senate. Should Republican win control of the upper chamber of the U.S. , McConnell would become the next majority leader.

However, Trump told Fredericks that he believed McConnell would cave on future debt limit negotiations with the . He further speculated, without proof, that the senior Republican leader might acquiesce to Democrat demands because they're blackmailing him.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Trump's retort was prompted when he was pressed by the host of American Sunrise on Real America News about Democrats “scheming” to collude “with some of the RINOs,” an abbreviation for Republicans in name only, “to blow the debt ceiling up.”

“Mitch McConnell keeps allowing [them] to have it. I mean, they ought to impeach Mitch McConnell if he allows that. Frankly, Mitch McConnell, something has to be — they have something on him. How he approves this thing is incredible,” he said in the interview.

While has been deployed against presidents and judges, it has not been used against senators. Instead, Congress relies on a distinct process for expulsions via a two-thirds vote. An expulsion of a senator hasn't taken place since the Civil War, per the Washington Post.

McConnell voted to acquit Trump of all charges during both of his impeachment trials. Since his White House departure, Trump has raged against McConnell, who had rebuked his actions in the run-up to the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Trump has also reportedly sought to recruit alternatives to be the GOP Senate leader.

Last month, Trump said on Truth Social that McConnell had a “DEATH WISH” for supporting some legislation supported by Democrats and described McConnell's wife — former Trump administration Transportation Secretary Elaine Chao — as [McConnell's] “China loving wife, Coco Chow.”

Chao was born in Taiwan.

FiveThirtyEight's latest election forecast gives Republicans a 55% chance of winning the Senate and an 85% shot of reclaiming the House.

  1. I would agree. Mitch McConnell is not good! He needs to go! He has sided with Biden too many times, pulled funds from GOP candidates because Trump had backed them etc. It doesn’t matter what is good for the country, it’s all about power with him. He’s been there too long !!!

  2. McConnell hates being the majority, he prefers being the minority because when he is top dog he can’t sell his vote to the highest bidder, His track record shows this throughout the years he has been in office. The man belongs to China.

  3. I agree with the President: somebody somewhere on the wrong side must have some dirty laundry on Mitch. That would explain his wishy-washy behavior against principle.

  4. Here we go again. REPUKICANTS – you WAIT until after the election to do these sort of things. Before elections you get behind and support your candidates to gget them elected. BUT NO, the repukicants never do this one simple thing – squabbles ALL THE TIME WITHIN THE PARTY. As I have often said the repukicants know more ways to screw up a one horse parade. And the expect a red wave – all I can say is HA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Yeah, and you know, I half ways expect the republicans to run someone against Trump. I would hope that if Trump wins the primary, the RNC would get behind him 100% or that Trump and his supporters would get behind anyone that beats him in the primary (at least I believe any Republican is better than any democrat, period) but will they? Or will another moron like Biden or the big guy himself, be installed to squat in our White House for another 4 years, because of the points you bring up? I believe the country would and should come apart at the seams in that case. Politics will have failed to keep America together and this democrat party will be to blame, but in no way should they be allowed to continue with this coup.

  5. Mitch does seem to find 9 or 10 republicans to side with the democrats on things I do not personally agree with, like that gun control bill this summer, what was that? Was that just to give the Biden regime points? I mean I am having trouble pointing to any benefit to the Republicans or America from that move. Mitch was only a somewhat fair weather supporter of Trump. Most of his time seems to be spent kowtowing to the dems.
As for that gun bill, I would like to point out to other voters in Indiana that Todd Young was part of that flimflam. He was already past the primary when we could have made our disagreement known and now his only opponent in the general election is a dem we can not in good conscience vote for. Unfortunately, he cannot be recalled in our state but I will be doing what I can to change that. We need to be able to recall those who do not represent our views in Washington, I think. Todd should pay attention to other than veteran affairs. Our veterans are important, but Americans need to be “free”, to honor and take care of their sacrifice. It is not our or his place to kowtow to the rants of Marxist, socialist, fascist, dictator, wannabe’s.

  6. Why doesn’t one of the Republican Senators sponsor a Rule that no single Senator can occupy the position of Majority Leader more than 3 consecutive 2 year periods , or something similar ?

  7. Agree that two faced gobble necked traitor was in bed with Pelosi and Schumer setting up that Jan6th B.S. among other things ,Hee needs to be impeached at the very least. McConnell has been a doube agent long enough!
