Giuffre's story received international news coverage in recent years following high-profile interviews during which she described her alleged experiences as a slave in convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein's alleged sex trafficking ring.
After failing to get the case against him dismissed, Queen Elizabeth II stripped Andrew of his military titles, charities and patronages.
The details of the settlement have not been released. As a result, Andrew will not face a civil trial in New York.
CNBC adds:
In a letter to Judge Lewis Kaplan, Giuffre's high-powered lawyer David Boies wrote, “We write jointly with counsel for defendant to advise the Court that the parties reached a settlement in principle of the above-referenced action.”
“The parties anticipate filing a stipulation of dismissal of the case within thirty (30) days,” Boies wrote. “In the interim, the parties request that the Court suspend all deadlines and hold the action in abeyance.”
