-

A county in Pennsylvania recently announced the decision to terminate its status as a “sanctuary county” for illegal immigrants.

“We are a county of security and law and order,” said Republican state Rep. Stephenie Scialabba.

Did you know? Over 5 million illegal migrants have crossed our border since was elected…

has exploded under the . The New York Times reported in January that in the 12 months leading up to last October, the Border Patrol encountered 1.7 million migrants trying to cross illegally marking the highest number since 1960.

The Biden administration has allowed the to flourish under its watch, even providing transportation for migrants to U.S. cities like New York City, Chicago, Washington, D.C., and more.

Last year, Governor Ron DeSantis took the matter into his own hands and chartered flights for about 50 illegal migrants from Texas to Martha's Vineyard. (RELATED: DeSantis Decides to Play Hardball With Biden's Border Crisis)

Last week, Butler County which is located in western , voted to revoke its “sanctuary” status which impedes immigration enforcement policies.

According to Fox News, the county was previously included in a list compiled by the Center for Immigration Studies that includes other 16 other counties in Pennsylvania, such as Philadelphia and Allegheny County.

The county board provided clarity last week regarding its association with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

As per the policy, the Butler County Prison will acknowledge ICE detainers that contain a warrant, send a list of prisoners to ICE on a weekly basis and permit ICE access to the facility and inmates, according to the outlet.

“The sanctuary designation did not reflect our intentions or practices,” said Scialabba, who led the movement to remove the designation from Butler County.

According to County Commissioner Kim Geyer, the sanctuary designation “created a lot of heartache and angst” among residents who felt it did not reflect Butler County's values.

Authorities said they are committed to supporting legal immigration efforts, but cited the rise in drug trafficking they are witnessing as a concern of an influx of illegal immigrants.

“Our is not just DUIs and retail theft anymore. We have ,” Richard Goldinger, the county district attorney, told WTAE Pittsburgh. “Again, that stuff has not come from citizens that are making fentanyl in Butler County. It's being brought here.”

I did. I also know that the leftist federal bureaucracy insists the number of illegal migrants in the U. S. is only 11 million. In round numbers the same amount they have been reporting for the last 20 years!
