The top contender in the 2024 race for President has made a major move to support gun owners.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has twice in the last week pledged to support the passage of constitutional – also known as “permitless” – carry in his state.
The two following videos released by Florida’s Voice News last week put both DeSantis and Florida House Speaker Paul Renner on record with a commitment to get this legislative move done.

“Basically, this was something that I’ve always supported,” DeSantis said. “The last two years, it was not necessarily a priority for the legislative leadership. But we’ve been talking about it, and he’s (Renner’s) pledged publicly that’s moving forward, and it’ll be something that will be done in the regular session.”
If Florida is the first state to pass constitutional carry in 2023, it will officially tip the national scales in favor of gun owners nationwide on this issue as the state will become the 26th one to recognize constitutional carry. American Liberty News reported last spring that DeSantis pledged to support the previous version of the legislation, but it did not reach his desk last year. {RELATED: DeSantis Pledges to Sign Constitutional Carry}

“State Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R-Howey-in-the Hills) filed legislation last month (for the third consecutive year) to bring Constitutional carry to Florida. DeSantis’ announcement brings Sabatini’s long-sought-after proposal one step closer to reality.
Sabatini’s legislation, HB 103 – Carrying of Firearms Without Licenses, has already earned the endorsement of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and Gun Owners of America (GOA).”
Former Florida State Representative Anthony Sabatini – the bill’s 2022 sponsor – did make an unsuccessful run for Congress this year which meant that he lost his seat in the Florida House as well.
It remains to be seen who the lead sponsor of this legislation will be in 2023. The Florida House will gavel in on March 7th, 2023.
While I do like DeSantis he isn’t “top contender”. Trump leads by a huge margin.
God lets hope Trump won’t be who the republicans make their candidate. If they do they will lose not only the race for president, but most likely everything else, including what little they won this election.They can see that the hate for Trump is wide and deep across this country, enough so that he will never win another election, so why would they even think they should support him?
Of COURSE DeSantis wants guns. In Florida they have alligators, pythons and boa constrictors aplenty, the stuff of nightmares. Some of the other states should catch on: they have carjackers, murderers, rapists and kinappers, the stuff of night mares.
