Project Veritas’ James O’Keefe Suspended, Leadership Role in Doubt

-

James O'Keefe is on paid leave from after a leaked memo accused the face behind the conservative watchdog of being “outright cruel” to his subordinates.

The organization's board is considering his removal.

The Daily Caller explains:

In an internal message to staff, the organization's executive director, Daniel Strack, said that O'Keefe is taking “a few weeks of well-deserved PTO,” according to New York Magazine.

“Like all newsrooms at this stage, the Project Veritas Board of Directors and Management are constantly evaluating what the best path forward is for the organization,” Strack reportedly said in a statement.

In contrast to Stack's benign-sounding brief, another memo obtained by The Daily Beast and signed by one-third of Project Veritas' employees accuses O'Keefe of being a power-hungry tyrant they claim subjected them to daily ridicule and lie-detector tests.

Per the report:

On Monday, Project Veritas staffers presented the nonprofit's board with the document covering his behavior, saying they were “troubled and frustrated” by O'Keefe's management style. Later that day, the board voted to reinstate two executives O'Keefe had fired a week earlier, while O'Keefe went on paid leave.

“James will be taking a few weeks of well-deserved [paid time off],” Project Veritas executive director Daniel Strack wrote Monday in an internal Project Veritas group chat obtained by The Daily Beast.

Even though O'Keefe is synonymous with the group he founded, his fate at the nonprofit remains unclear. New York Magazine first reported on the internal dissension and O'Keefe's leave.

The memo details a series of bizarre incidents. In one, during a Sept. 2022 trial against a Democratic consulting firm that O'Keefe later lost, an employee complained that O'Keefe berated them in front of jurors because he needed something to eat. Ultimately, the employee alleged, O'Keefe took a sandwich from a heavily pregnant woman to sate his hunger.

The Daily Caller adds that O'Keefe's communications adviser and the board have become increasingly unhappy with his leadership.

Project Veritas has faced employee lawsuits over allegations of illegal business practices and fostering a “sexually hostile” work culture. The organization is under investigation for its alleged conduct after the theft of 's diary.

The board will meet on Friday to determine O'Keefe's future.

  1. Project Veritas is NOTHING without James Okeefe and all of those WOKE employees with thin skin can go work somewhere else as far as I care. If the board loses Okeefe, they lose me as a reader and fan.

  2. This is why journalism is a dead occupation. If you actually do your job, you get canned. What a croc of you know what.
Well, James started project veritas, so maybe he’ll just start another company.
I’m not really interested in veritas without O’keefe.

  3. ….O’Keefe was becoming too influential…and he has attacked the Golden Calf…Big Pharma. The corrupt board members are being bribed or blackmailed to end his reign. If he goes, so does PV. A win for The Globalists. A loss for the people. Amazing that even PV Board Members are so corrupted. Perhaps they should have done an undercover probe of The PV Board, and exposed their level of corruption.

  4. Seems to me the Veritas board has been bought off by the drug companies! Has anyone seen the boards bank accounts? If they get rid of James, then they get rid of me also.

  5. All O’Keefe has to do is start up another company, maybe called Aletheia (Greek for Truth), and Veritas will wither on the vine. He can cherry pick the best employees, and all those whiny employees will be out of a job, like they sawed off the tree branch they were sitting on.

  6. The “people” they’re exposing are EVIL!!
They literally have to go to bed with them to get “in” with them.
Saw a video on Twitter of an employee?? telling about the queer crap they had to do.
    It’s TRULY some MESSY work.

  7. The board is unhappy with the leadership that created the board in the first place and made Veritas effective…….

Ashlies diary was given to the FBI qafter is was given to O’keefe……whats to investigate???

  8. My sainted Mother used to say: ‘There’s the reason they give, and then there’s the REAL reason.’ Something to think about in so many of life’s happenstances.

  9. The “alleged theft” of Ashley Biden’s diary. Project Veritas disputes the theft allegation and it is not proved. This kind of wording is sloppy or intentionally biased.

I support James OKeefe for his journalism.
