California July Fourth Events Canceled Due To Immigration Raids

Several cities in Los Angeles County have abruptly canceled or postponed their Fourth of July celebrations after anti-ICE riots triggered a swift response from the Trump administration.

One of the largest Independence Day gatherings in Los Angeles, the Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Summer Block Party — originally set for July 4 — has been postponed. The event website vaguely attributes the decision to “recent events affecting a portion of Downtown Los Angeles and ongoing circumstances impacting the region.”

While no new date has been confirmed, organizers claim it will happen “later in the summer,” effectively sidelining what would have been a major display of patriotism in the heart of the city.

In Cudahy, where 97% of residents identify as Hispanic, city officials postponed the planned July 3 celebration. Neighboring Bell Gardens has gone even further, canceling a community concert and two outdoor movie nights, including one originally scheduled for last Saturday and another for July 3.

Officials in Bell Gardens said the cancellations were made “out of an abundance of caution” due to supposed fears over federal immigration enforcement activities. Many see this as a politically motivated move that prioritizes activist agendas over community traditions and American values.

Huntington Park also decided to cancel its July 3 Independence Day celebration. Meanwhile, all Fourth of July events in Los Angeles City Council District 14 — which includes many historically patriotic neighborhoods in East L.A. — have been scrapped. A spokesperson for Councilwoman Ysabel Jurado cited immigration raids as the reason for the sweeping cancellations.

Many residents see these cancellations as yet another sign that local leaders are more interested in playing political games than fostering unity and pride in the United States.

The sooner California breaks off and sinks into the Pacific Ocean the better off our country will be.

Wasn’t Cudahy the town where the deputy mayor ‘suggested’ the local gangs go after ICE and probably all other LE agencies?
