A truck driver carrying a valid New York commercial driver’s license (CDL) that bizarrely listed “No Name Given” has been arrested in Oklahoma after authorities identified him as an illegal immigrant from India, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
The man, allegedly named Anmol Anmol, was stopped by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) during a routine commercial vehicle inspection off Interstate 40. What began as a standard stop quickly turned into a federal case when troopers examined his documentation.
Anmol handed over a legitimate New York State CDL that bore no first or middle name — only the last name “Anmol” and the words “No Name Given” where the other name fields should have been. The license was a REAL ID-compliant Class A CDL, allowing him to drive large, commercial vehicles and even potentially hazardous materials across the country.
DHS: “A Threat to Public Safety”
Following the stop, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested Anmol, who, according to DHS officials, had illegally entered the U.S. in 2023 and was released into the country under current federal immigration policy.
“This man should never have been allowed behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler,” said DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin in a statement. “Allowing illegal aliens to obtain commercial driver’s licenses to operate 18-wheelers and transport hazardous materials on America’s roads is reckless and incredibly dangerous to public safety.”
Anmol has now been placed into removal proceedings and is expected to be deported.
New York DMV Under Fire
Despite the strange license name and questionable immigration status, New York’s Department of Motor Vehicles confirmed that Anmol’s license — issued on April 14, 2025 and set to expire May 26, 2028 — is legitimate.
The license listed Richmond Hill, NY as Anmol’s address and included a REAL ID star in the top-right corner, indicating it could be used for domestic flights, despite the applicant not having legal immigration status or a full legal name on record.
“This shows just how broken the system is,” McLaughlin said. “New York is not only failing to check if applicants applying to drive 18-wheelers are U.S. citizens — they’re failing to even obtain full legal names.”
Oklahoma Cracks Down
Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt blasted New York’s DMV policy and praised his state’s enforcement actions.
“If New York wants to hand out CDLs to illegal immigrants with ‘No Name Given,’ that’s on them,” Stitt said on X (formerly Twitter). “The moment they cross into Oklahoma, they answer to our laws.”
The arrest came during a three-day enforcement campaign by OHP troopers along I-40, during which 125 illegal immigrants driving commercial trucks were apprehended.
“This is about keeping Oklahomans safe,” Stitt added.
Broader Concerns About Illegal Immigrants Driving Trucks
The case adds to growing national concern about illegal immigrants operating commercial vehicles, sometimes without proper training, background checks, or legal status.
Anmol’s arrest comes months after a fatal April crash in Florida, in which another illegal immigrant from India, Harjinder Singh, was charged with three counts of vehicular homicide after making an illegal U-turn in an 18-wheeler and killing three Haitian nationals.
That crash reignited calls for tighter restrictions on CDL issuance, especially regarding undocumented migrants.
ICE-Oklahoma Partnership Highlighted
The DHS credited its 287g partnership with the Oklahoma Highway Patrol — a program allowing state and local law enforcement to collaborate with ICE — for removing Anmol from the roads.
“Thanks to the successful 287g partnership of ICE and Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Anmol Anmol is no longer posing a threat to drivers,” DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said Friday.

Seems to me that there are at least two separate issues here. 1) absent verifiable information NO one without a valid name should be issued a drivers license, and especially not a commercial operators one. 2) without that verifiable personal info no ‘real ID’ would be valid. Period.
That the state of noo yawk likely circumvented existing laws should open them up to liability should that ‘driver’ cause a catastrophic accident.

Demonocrat policies gave him that drivers license. Demonocrats are NOT qualified to run our country, but they DO KNOW how to run it into the ground !
